I was suggested to create a calc discussion thread regarding this issue, as suggested by Flashlight237.

Here's a calculation I made:

The original one-shot gap is 7.5x, however, that applies to fragmentation at least which is countless times less significant than vaporisation.

...So if I'm getting this right, the suggestion is that if this calc were to be accepted, for any character that vaporizes another we'd treat them as being 4748840-5090533 stronger? That seems a bit... much.

That's not what it's based on, actually. It's based on the gap between Human and Peak Human levels of AP/Dura, based on the reasoning that peak humans can reliably one-shot regular humans with an unarmed strike to a vital but well-guarded area such as the skull or the ribcage just above the heart

Well, the standardised gap comes from this.

Had that feeling too, though, what standards should we set up for vaporising an opponent in a single attack?

How come we try to put a ap gap through gaps for lower tiers in matches? We already have the gaps in the ap page given.

Mountain to Mountain+ the gap is 100mt + 1000mt = 1100/2 = 550mt aka a 5.5x gap and just do this for the ton amount the characters scale to. So many verses make it clear just a 2x is a massive diff to do severe damage so this shouldn't inaccurate.

Come to think of it, what would even be the purpose of a vaporization gap? We can't use it for scaling since fiction simply ain't gonna obey it, and vaporizing an opp is just a flashy way of one-shotting them, which we already have a gap for. Having a definite number at which one can vape their opponent is kinda neat, granted, but there's really no point to it beyond that

Regen countering.

Wouldn't this be only usable for vs battles? Fiction doesn't use power gaps this large to one shot someone. SSJ2 Gohan vape'd Cell with like what? A 2x gap? At most
Tbf, weren't they both expending the majority of their ki in the Kamehameha clash? Since they rely on channeling their ki to boost their abilities, wouldn't Cell running low on key lower his durability significantly?
