The Amazing Digital Circus General Discussion Thread [Spoilers]

I think people have been speculating on Kinger being next to abstract for a while and this new episode only cements it further.

Anyone think the December release date has any merit?

Depends on how they wanna go about releasing episodes. If it's done, we COULD see it soon, but Glitch likes to take its time with these releases. Maybe if we're lucky, we'll get some kind of update at GlitchX 2024.

GlitchX didn't reveal any new episode release dates, & while there were 2 bumpers with TADC characters, IDK if those are canon, or even relevant.

However, the VA fun segment is, as the title suggests, fun. Fan-suggested memes & whatnot, voiced by character's voice actors!

Also, it was a Premiere (Pre-recorded!) instead of a Live Stream this year. I wonder if that's a sign of things to come....

I don't think it's canon but I thought it was very funny.

So. It appears there's a shot of Gangle trying on a mask in Zooble's room.

At some point, we see time accelerated, shown by the hue of the sky changing & the cars just becoming trailing streaks of light.

Bubble appears to have cracked some kind of structure with its tongue. Notable feat?

To Jax's surprise, the Gloink Queen returns. Ugh....

"& then, nobody was teleported anywhere, ever again and there was everlasting peace." Besides sounding like a lie, this suggests someone was teleported somewhere. Pomni to the freezer, maybe? Was she in a freezer in another video?

More time period evidence, shown by the in-universe video's framing device & menu items like some kind of side costing $0.31, a big burger costing $1, & the restaurant's architecture resembling an old McDonalds.

Anything else notable y'all can think of?

Yes it is a running joke that in each trailer, someone goes to a freezer

The episode video's page is out!
With live chat! (As I type this, there's already over 1,700 people waiting. Live chat is already getting so fast it's tough -But still possible- to keep up with.)

Less than 24 hours until it premieres!

The video's official description:
"Pomni and friends spend an honest day’s hard work at popular fast food chain; Spudsy’s! Keep an eye out though, Gangle is the manager and has a brand new mask… it’s like she’s a whole NEW person!"

I'm excited, even though this episode seems "calm" I hope to see at least a small new feat

Well, that was a bit of a let down.
AtM, it feels like there's fewer feats in each episode.

The light trails thing was just a fancy timelapse.
The structure cracked because it had flowing water that was being plugged by the suggestion box.

Zooble's spatula-like hand(?) showed pain touching a burner, but was later seen to be fine wielding a metal(?) spatula to flip patties on the burger.

Gangle survived (with unconsciousness & ostensible hospitalization) being hit by a truck.

I guess Caine got a new ability for whatever opening a hole in the floor is. He later drops Zooble from it into Spudsy's.

I'm a bit busy AtM, but I wanna check the episode later. Maybe see if there's anything legible on the clock-in/out papers.

Emotionally, one thing that really got to me, embitteringly, was how Gangle seems to not like Ragatha because she can't tell when Ragatha's being sincere or not.

Ragatha's like that because she wants to help & for the others to be happy, & to be able to seem like she's someone the others can turn to.
If someone's sincere self is wanting to be a pillar of support, friendly-seeming, & helpful, that IS them being genuine. To me, it feels like Gangle is insulting Ragatha's efforts to be kind, & Ragatha's real self. Just because you feel sad doesn't mean your efforts to make everyone happy aren't genuine.

Like, sure, Gangle, for you, happiness might be fleeting & affected by what mask you're feeling while hiding your inner sadness, but that doesn't mean people's strength to stay kind is fake.

Oh, another finding I guess is that apparently negative emotions can build up in Gangle while she has a mask on, like her "happy mask", as shown when she shrieked outside. Interesting insight into her functionality.
Although, since the mask is from Zooble, does this mean masks affecting Gangle's mood is inherent to Gangle, not the masks?

Perhaps the masks are a way for Gangle to pretend that they help her express herself, when in reality the masks are just that, masks, they do not reflect who she truly is, and she tries forcefully to make the masks appear to be something that is not really her. In the end she manages to throw off her mask of happiness and it is shown that she can still smile without it.

Yeah, she seems to be able to feel emotions contrary to her masks, supressed (As shown by her taking the Happy Mask off & then shrieking.) & later tossing it away & showing tears of joy with her Tragedy Mask on.
Support device-esque things, I guess?

I love this image so much rn ❤❤❤

Oh and the episode is cool too, depressing on how its implied that Gangle gave up on her dream of becoming a comic artist and presumably became a shift manager after that back in her previous life
hell I had this one theory of mine that some members of the main cast's lifes before they entered the circus sucked and were horrible to them (Jax just being a total loser and Gangle's as I mention before), putting on the headset as a way to escape their reality and into the virtual world.

Rewatching episode:
Potential optional equipment: Baseball bat (Jax), baseball (Gangle?).
(Interesting that Gangle is learning to play baseball. She didn't know how &/or is (still) trying to adjust to the new body?)

Ragatha survives prolongedly being in a deep fryer & is fine when we next see her out of it, despite being flailing in pain while in it. By my count, from about 4:34/4:35 to 5:28 (There's a timeskip at 5:28.) in the episode's time along the Youtube video.

Shoutouts to the old Pomni unicorn horn & fake catchphrase of "Well, it's possible." references.

Caine's dialogue implies TADC cast members can smell.

Caine pulls the suggestion boxx from the wall, revealing cracks. Did the dislodging cause this? If so, physical AP feat for Caine. Though I can't really tell what part of it was lodged in the wall.

Jax suggesting an adventure where Zooble gets turned into pinata (Possibly sentient/sapient, given Jax might want Zooble to remain aware.) implies Caine has Transmutation, or at least, that Jax believes he does. Jax might be credible given he implied to Pomni in episode 1 they've been there for years.

For some reason, Gangle suggested an adventure where they all work at a fast food place. Weird; Even if she is used to that, wouldn't she hate it because gave up dream to work there? Surely a wannabe comic artist could've suggested something more creative?

Interesting thing. When Caine says "I'm already getting TONS of ideas! Haha-" Bubble's tongue retracts & lolls out, floppily, from Caine's mouth. Caine then pushes it back so that ir returns to sticking out, rigidly, from Bubble's mouth.
This implies body control for one or both of Caine &/or Bubble, & maybe some sort of connection? Limited spatial manipulation given the appart teleporting tongue? Weird Body Control??
He also says "That was weird." after pushing it back in, suggesting this isn't normal for him, & is later seen glitch-spazzing out. After the issues he had in therapy with Zooble, I wonder if there's a building problem with Caine??

As Gangle says, being a shift manager was her job at one point.

Somehow, after Caine says "Get your nonslip shoes ready, because we're going to Spudsy's!", Jax inexplicably trips when trying to start walking towards the portal. Visuals don't seem to suggest Caine did anything, so I guess it's just Jax having a moment of clumsyness? Not impossible if he's "only" had this body for a few years, unerringly consistent as its "operations" should theoretically be....

Gangle calls Caine on a flip phone. Indicative of era.
Caine's office has at least 4 books labelled "GLOINKS", 1 of which has the subtitle, if I can read it right, of "A complete history volume 1".
I can't read the yellow sticky note on his bulletin board. "Please check [SOMETHINGOROTHER]"? The C&A logo is also present on a sticky note. (Why would you put that on a sticky note?? Especially since it seems to be not the default for the paper's blank form?)

The clock later revealed to be malfunctioning says 7 O'clock when they begin the breakfast shift.

A vehicle with the license plate "MR 57 AMH" is visible. Considering Jax has a car saying JAX 001, presumably for him to somehow "exit" the adventure, I wonder what this is for?
Across the street appears to be a place called.... "Vrooom Vrooom Tires"? (XD)

Zooble's spatula hand is temporarily discoloured by the heat of the grill.

Ragatha says to Pomni that Orbsman is from a "previous adventure" & "before your time". Potential experience indicators.

I wonder if Orbsman has the MR 57 AMH car; Pomni interprets his order as "A number 57", & there's an item on the menu that costs $57.57. There's no way 1957 fits the era for this story, though, & I'd be surprised if TADC is hosted on a computer existing in the year 2057.

Jax says he HAAATES Orbsman. I wonder why? Because unintelligible?
Also, Orbsman's hands visibly clip into the countertop. Did Glitch mean to leave that animation error in to make in-universe TADC look more shoddy? Is it some kind of NPC lack of collision?

The malfunctioning clock does indeed read 7 AM, when checked by Jax after Orbsman's arrival, same as it did before the apparent timeskip.

Stupid Sauce apparently gets in Ragatha's eye. It seems to cause a mild eyelid discolouration, & initially, a disturbing hallucination. As well as a prolonged stupor as though drunk.

Weirdness:
Jax: "[scoffs] Caine's not gonna do anything malicious. It's…[sniffs] …not in his nature."
Why did Jax sniff? Surely he doesn't have allergies. & I thought breathing was optional for them. Heck, IIRC, holding his breath is a trick he saves. So why did he sniff? Steam?

A big box of Pepper Packets near the grill has "[C&A Logo]Distribution Service" on its corner. Is C&A distributing pepper just something Caine inserted them into this "adventure" for as a placeholder, for lack of other companies to be a distributor, or is this something they actually do?
The logo is also visible later on a big box labelled "SAUCE PACKET" as well as one labelled "TAKE AWAY CUP".

Body control: When Ragatha reveals Pomni is "flirting" with "Gummigoo", Gangle briefly flips her mask(s?)(It's Happy Mask over Tragedy Mask.) to be upside down to show a frown.

I'll go through more of the episode later. At the moment, I'm a bit distracted. Plus, as you all can tell, this is getting long.

They do not need to eat, they still eat, they do not need to sleep, they still sleep, they cannot die from lack of oxygen, even so they can feel the sensation that they are short of air.
Basically, while they don't need any of your vital functions to live, they can still do them.

I assume this is specifically in response to me about Jax sniffing, as opposed to any of the many other parts of that post?
I guess it might make sense for them to do them instinctually/instinctively, on reflex....

i feel this is another unintentional way of torture from Caine, because they can also feel somethings they feel, but they can't truly die from those things.

Mayhaps. Anyway, if you or anyone else has any thoughts on any of the stuff I've brought up, please do share. I'd love to discuss!

Also, I'm going to be typing more thoughts/observations between my replies.

Pretty sure Jax sniffing was more an actual of derision than anything, nothing more to it, he's just sniffing at the idea that Caine would do anything.

When Gangle says to "Get your game faces on!", the apparently malfunctional clock reads a little past 12; When it was last seen, it wasn't past 7, so how did it advance 5 hours? Is it just EXTREMELY slow or something?

Somehow, there are already posters bearing Gangle's new Happy Mask.

Visible from the Drive-Through's Window is a building labelled "Distribution Center". C&A?

3 Gloinks are shown pinning an NPC by repeatedly jumping on it. Since they seem to be wooden mannequins, maybe there's a feat for knocking over that mass? Though, we don't see them do it, no damage is done, though pain is inflicted....

The menu features an item with a name ending in "PICKLES" that costs $70, THE SLAB with "REAL MEAT" for $0.31, the Mega Mega Stack with "3x Mega" for $1, & the $57.57 item is a "DOBBY DOG".

All the Gloinks are named.

Gangle apparently seems to be able to arrange her ribbon hands to resemble a two-fingers-pointing/"scissors" gesture.
Also, IDK if the hands that pull in Jax are under her power. Also, the Training Video seems aware of Jax's response? Immersion? Technology Manipulation? Is this some fake Gangle made by the adventure?

In her stupor, Ragatha says "I miss my horses.". I wonder if this means she worked with horses? Or there was an adventure with them?
"Packages landing on my head".... Might be a past adventure reference, but tea parties & dancing lessons? Backstory?

She also openly second-guesses herself with "Wait, is that mean to say?".

Apparently between Lunch & Dinner, Pomni learned "more info on gloink reproduction than she ever needed to know.".

I can't tell if Pomni is more or less trusting of Jax when he slumps in exhaustion near her.

Gangle saying "My comedy mask is usually broken by now." suggests that these 4 episodes of it being broken early on is the norm. How unbearably tragic.

Jax apparently clocked out "early" by leaving at 9 PM? (Shoutouts to them working 14 hour & larger shifts. Stamina feat?)

Funnily enough, in the next scene, there's a whiteboard with the message "Those who clock out early will be reported to upper management and dealt with appropriate disciplinary action.".

Zooble bringing up that they should be Ragatha's "Designated Driver" to get her home (They need to navigate in cars? & how do they already know this?) implies driving qualifications. They seemed to be dropped into the restaurant via a portal in the roof. Were they somehow informed this adventure's exit is somewhere remote from the Spudsy's restaurant?

Zooble & Ragatha spend an hour cleaning up the restaurant. We don't see what Pomni did in that time before she offers to close for Gangle.

Dangit, even full-screen on the highest quality, the clock-in/out cards don't seem legible.

Okay, my bad, after we see the truck, Gangle wasn't hospitalized, she just suddenly wakes up in a chair. Was the truck a teleportation device to the final office?
Apparently cut own shift short.... Thanks to Pomni saying she'd clock out. This was unknown to Caine?

I can't help but wonder if Pomni was sneaking around inspecting stuff while unseen, since C&A is the same logo as in the unused office maze from episode 1.

Caine is surprisingly generous with his ratings, giving Kinger an A+ despite his absence. Though that implies that the criteria to do perfect is nothing at all, & that the actions of everyone who DID go on this "adventure" only LOWERED their rating.
Or put simply: In Caine's eyes, everyone did nothing but screw-up here.
(Or it's a system where you start at perfect, can't get point added, only get points subtracted for imperfection.)

Caine's computer is open to a seemingly mostly blank webpage with the C&A logo, but light blue.

Caine says "I am such a good -" I wonder if he meant to say "I am such a good boss." & if he glitched because there's some sort of "disagreement" with such a statement in his system?
Still, his eyes pop out, his size & shape distorts, & he teleports, his physical orientation changes, he stretches & squashes, & his audio distorts. I wonder if it can be undistorted into something comprehensible?

Gangle's drawing is kind of nice. Shoutouts to her skill drawing with a pencil & those ribbob-limbs.

Good that Gangle seems like she can hang out with the rest of the gang more now.
