Though, in all seriousness, those without a Switch but with an itch for 3D platforming should definitely pick up a game called A Hat in Time. Even in a year with SMO, it stands out as a great game. Detox from my link to a crummy game with this link to a cool one!

Miner Ultra Adventures has a hat attack. A Hat in Time has tons of hats. Super Mario Odyssey has a hat that possesses your soul or something.

Super Mario Odyssey is one of the best Mario games I've played in years, and is an easy contender for my GOTY along with Breath of the Wild. I loved the movement options Cappy opened up and the npcs are some of the most unique I've seen in a Mario game for quite some time. Bosses were kinda of a mixed bag, and the motion controls should've been optional and don't work well at all unless you're purely using the joy cons (Trying to do anything with Cappy with a pro controller is borderline impossible). But overall it was a great game.
