Super Mario General Discussion Thread.

Free roam mode might be interesting.

Also, shoutout to all the billboards in Mario Kart.
It's a shame we can't really use names & logos, because that's all we get from them; Like, every major character seems to have several major brands/companies/industries named after them.

Also, the Mario Kart series probably gives a lot of overlooked infrastructure, geology & tech level information.
It's interesting.

Thoughts, all?

I'm actually interested in the Donkey Kong game. Dunno, maybe the fact that the game's core feature seems to be Donkey breaking through all sorts of terrain can lead to finding some interesting info, even if there aren't feats proper?

Well, I've been typing in Notepad as I watch. Mind, it's a bit disorganized, but I hope y'all find it interesting.

Banandium Gem.
Distance is in meters! (Likely helpful for measuring, just in case Oddysey doing that wasn't enough.)
You have a targeting view that yells you how sturdy distant materials are. (Game mechanics?)
Sturdiness scaling. (Treehouse Crew said something about material sturdiness mattering for breaking stuff with other stuff, IIRC.)
Banandium Gold is brimming with energy, highly explosive when thrown.
Handslap can quickly pick up/gather items.
DK can't be harmed by the explosions, Treehouse Commentators say. (Dubiously reliable source??)
DK's tongue lolls out when near a Banandium Gem.
Some prospectors say a wall is too dough to dig through. By hitting a switch, DK breaks it down.
DK can make shockwaves with his hands while jumping, which can affect some things in the world, like raising some switches.
A checkpoint resembles a tuning fork covered in destructible gold.
Banandium Gem covered in rock hummed.
Metal grate isn't destructible, but the ground moving on the crater belt that goes under it is destructible; Puzzle basis.
Near the outside Prospectors note the wind is really picking up, & a big storm is on the way.
Bug-like monsters that carry chunks they drop when defeated.
Ingot Isle visible in distance near the Mother Lode. Nearby Banandium Gem is midway through being destroyed by DK before a storm takes DK's mining lamp hat & his big Banandium Gem, among other things, like DK. Storm seems to be swirling around a giant, molten sphere covered in purple rock that slowly pushes the mining area down into the ground, making a giant purple crater.
Loading screen says as long as it's not rotten or mushy, DK will eat any banana he sees. (Noticeably, it seems to be that DK eats the Banandium Gems he finds & then breaks.)
DK walks around with his upper body stuck in a big rock.
DK rescues other prospectors who are stuck.
Ingot Isle, Sublayer 10, has a Terrain Strength rating of 1 out 5 Stars.
The purple blobby rock guy that joins DK screams as it falls into Ingot Isle, Sublayer 10, where DK meets with it.
DK can do "Chunk Jumps", jumping off a chunk he's holding midair.
He can also do "Turf Surfing", where he surfs on a chunk across the ground, wearing it down. Treehouse Crew state the strength of the terrain influences how quickly the chunk will be worn down.
Treehouse Crew says spiky green vines are a hazard & can be Turf Surfed on.
A prospector says a weird, hard purple metal came out of a gizmo & sealed up everything, notably including using a barrel (cannon) used for transport. Said metal is shown to be not destructible by DK in gameplay.
DK meets the purple rock creature, which he struggles to unearth. Its body seems to have imprints of labels saying "void".
It speaks & calls DK "Monkey!" in its panic, then flees. (Weird, IMHO, since isn't DK an ape/gorilla? Sorry if anyone minds me talking about that part.)
DK attempts to calm/soothe it down, & settles on making music, doing whistling. The rock creature dances & faces him, asks if DK is the one who saved it & that it wants to go with him. It reads his tie, learning his name, DK.
DK begrudgingly accepts. "The Odd Rock decides to join!" A message states "You can now use the power of Odd Rock's Noise!".
By making music (DK whistling.), it can make a path to where to go.
DK can climb & smash crystals both at once.
Higher up, DK finds an area with rock music playing. By making music, a void metal gizmo is freed up & then destructible, making the barrel cannon accessible.
A prospector monkey says DK & The Odd Rock make a pretty strong pair.
Segment ends outside of Ingot Isle.
If I heard right, they're gonna show more of DK Bonanza later, in a later area.

Hopefully y'all find that interesting &/or helpful, or at least not bothersome!

More of my notes from while watching Treehouse:

DK can't alone break what the Treehouse Crew called a "concrete slab" without using a Chunk to bash it.

Whole area of Reservoir Bank is an underground layer of the planet.
Purple sparking boom rock. Makes a big explosion to destroy a chunk of stone.
Enemies can toss about DK sized rocks.
Fossil collectables, which aren't destroyed by boom rock exploding. Odd Rock likes when fossils are collecting.

Destruction persists, you can go into a fully 3D overview of the map.

DK can hand slap & colourful silhouettes of nearby Banandium Gems will appear.
Shifty Stone will turn into platforms made of whatever material is thrown at/impacting it, or so Treehouse Crew says?
DK can make craters when landing, & make bigger creater by jumping/attacking from higher heights.
Enemy: Peekabookoids. They hide in rocks, which they burst out of.
There's a portal with Voidco labels, which by making music with Odd Rock, DK can go into a Challenge Course, which seems to be its own location. (Blue void with platforms.)
DK can attack while monkey-barring. Treehouse Crew members claim it was "an infinity way down, actually.".
Red Balloon item found, which lets one float back up after falling, without damage.
Barrel Cannon in it launches DK towards the upper whiteness of the area, & sends him out of the Challenge Course.

Cranky talks to DK. DK can ask "Who are you?", to his irritation. Commentators didn't talk to him, saying he probably has a long rant.
Bobber switch to raise platforms, one of which has a waterfall flowing onto a Banandium Gem.
DK can climb giant pipes.
Rolling jump move returns from old games.
Hit a Shifty Stone to spawn platofmrs for a timed barrel cannon challenge where DK is fired from said barrel cannons through the Shifty Stone platforms, destroying them.

DK has a spinning attack involving spinning a chunk.

A Void thing is preventing water flowing.

Crocoid. Big stone thing with a punching arm.
Treehouse Crew says "I'm not sure you're gonna be able to punch him.".
DK can't harm him, & when viewing studiness vision, it calls Concrete "Extra Sturdy".

After beating it & destroying the Void Stake, a big crater opens up to go deeper down, which is where that Donkey Kong Bonanza Treehouse Segment ends.

"When I heard there was a banana bandit on the loose, I knew who to blame!"

Between this and that statue with what looks like crocodile mouths I'm starting to K. Ope that he'll return at long last.

He creates a potion that gives diddy kong a working jetpack
Doesn't mean he's at Einstein levels, if anything it's hax.

Remember, by random side game scaling, K. Rool=Bowser

I think you mean by random side game scaling, Bowser=K. Rool 🚬

Mario games wish they were featsman like the funny gorilla.

Source on this screenshot?

Wait, is it legit possible diddy kong isnt in mk worlds cause of the name "diddy" being associated with P Diddy? to how domninos retired the noid mascot cause Kenneth Noid shot up a dominos?

Diddy Kum was annoying anyway

(I am not sorry)

Nintendo Treehouse notes:

When the Crystal Path extends from the Wondaria roller coaster tracks, it eventually takes over a Ferris Wheel in the background, & the Ferris Wheel's lights seem to become operational again. Electricity/Energy Manipulation?

Apparently, a portion of gameplay is exclusive to Treehouse Live? (Kirby: Forgotten Land DLC.)
(Edit: Forgot that part was Kirby. Whoops, lol.)

DK: Bonanaza. There can be more than one Void Stake per area, meaning multiple routes downward.
Apparently, Fossils can be Traded for new Fashion Items at any Style Shop.
DK descends to Sublayer 101.
A loading screen states "TIPS This demo lets you play in the full intro area (Ingot Isle) and explore a portion of a later area (the Lagoon Layer). He then returns to Ape Cape. (SL100). Where DK returned to is marked by a golden brown layer on the ground.
DK can turf surf on Boom Rock. He collides with a geyser, & it explodes. He takes no damage; Still at 3 out of 3 Hearts. A bug enemy throwing a rock at him does damage him, though.
Bigger Void Stakes will create more Banandium Gems, says a Treehouse Crew member, following the destruction of a Void Stake to open up a pit surrounded by green terrain impervious to even Boom Rock. They land on Sublayer 101 again, & then the game takes them to a loading screen with the Demo tip.

DK can "Teeleport". A tuning-fork-sound like sound sounds, & a big blue eel erupts from the ground in a blue, misty portal thing, swallows DK at his location, & spits him out where the chosen checkpoint is.
They break a Void Stake, following which Odd Rock says "Go with the flow!".
They then show off the photo mode.
They jump down to a new area of Sublayer 101, then the Demo loads them back to Ape Cape. Quote The Treehouse Crew: "Unfortunately, I think that's all we're going to show you for this last little glimpse of Donkey Kong Bonanza."

For the last segment, they've gathered their whole crew of 15 for one last Mario Kart World Ride. Only 4 are playing, though, & all 4 are playing as the cow.

"Have you tried Roll Jumping yet? We apes have no need for the laws of physics!" ~ Cranky Kong (DKC Returns)

Yes, when I get back around to it, you'll be seeing limited Physics Manipulation on Cranky's profile, and a revision to put limited physics Manipulation on all Kong profiles

There was a South Korean leak of something for Donkey Kong Bananza that is big spoilers, & depending on what the rest of the game holds, is potentially even bigger spoilers.
Theories abound in the comments section, too.

Ok. I just asked a random person and he said sealing the vold/nothingness can get non-existence interaction.

Did Reclusa have any notable feats in Brothership, or would he just upscale from the base High 6-A stuff? I know he manipulated dreams and stuff but I don’t remember if that had any connection to his AP.

Wasnt it just, bonds?
He made those worlds that people’s minds were trapped in, which I think were called dreams though I don’t remember for sure. I don’t think they had anything that would make Reclusa scale to them AP-wise, but I wanted to make sure or find out if Reclusa had anything else to scale to.

I think the best thing outside of that would be scaling him to certain characters/objects like a Power Star, due to the Great Conductor calling Mario & Luigi for their Bond power, but I’d have to recheck the tail-end of the game to remind myself of how exactly their Bond power is described as well as what the Great Conductor would realistically have knowledge of.

Yes, Recluse referred to them as dreams and there personal worlds. I collected the pictures of the exact text, if it's ok to post them here.

If it's on topic and ain't **** and or real gore post whatever tf you want.

I know, it's just that I want to avoid spoiling the game for anyone who hasn't played it yet.
Oh, just use the spoiler tab. When you write a post, you see the icons above the box? Like Bold, Italics, etc? At the end is three dots, next to the image link button. Click it, it'll show you options, one of which is a spoiler tab.
Post shit in there and it'll become a collapsable.
