sundowners large town level feat

ok so i was looking through the metal gear vs wiki and i saw sundowner town level and i thought tf? can someone explain how he is town level

Attack Potency does not automatically scale to destructive output, especially in scaling chains. Being Large Town Level does not mean you can destroy a Large Town in one attack, it just means your attack is potent enough to harm someone who can handle attacks strong enough to destroy a Large Town.

With that explained him hurting Raiden would make him Large Town Level in Attack Potency.

Scales to Raiden (Though is obviously weaker, still the same ballpark) who can tank attacks of that caliber (See Armstrong punching Raiden hard enough to create a massive sinkhole and frag a huge mecha made of carbon nanofibers), and has large town lv KE himself (Can slice apart boxers tossed by Monsoon at sub-rel speeds).

oh what are boxers btw?

The vehicles Monsoon tosses at you, along with the choppers.
Because they're tossed at like quad digit mach. Basic KE.
Even if you have issues with that, there's still Armstrong punching Raiden so hard he literally causes town level environmental destruction atop of totaling a mecha made out of carbon nanofiber tubing which has a Gpa of like 100. And Raiden walks this off.

To further that, even MGS4 Raiden is getting quite close to tier 7, being able to withstand and halt 8-A levels of force while like, dead. In a body that is like comparing a gameboy to a modern gamic PC.

Raiden or Armstrong, probably Raiden by virtue of not being the dude died in that exchange.

Unless you wanna count like, Metal Gears with nukes, in which case probably Peace Walker due to having a massive hydrogen bomb.

Well in a fight Raiden would humiliate Peace Walker, he'd not only blitz it, but would one shot it, even if he didn't have the AP, the HF blade would bisect it.

Only reason PW is the "strongest" is purely talking maximum AP output due to having a huge nuke.

Not that simple. There's a lot of variances especially with hax and nukes being involved.
Make a Vs thread I guess for that one, do some matches between some dudes.

Ok and last question how do weapons make a character stronger? I mean it's the weapon that's doing the work

That's kinda vague.
But for things like swords, clubs, etc, weapons still require you to apply strength and force.
If you give a toddler a baseball bat, they wouldn't be hitting as hard as if Mike Tyson rolled up with a hammer.

Especially in the case of MG, Doc even says that the HF aspect while good, isn't infallible.

Couple that with both Raiden's feats not relying on his weapons, it wouldn't matter anyway (Armstrong's feat scales directly to Raiden's durability, as mentioned it was literally just a punch, clear case of physicals. Raiden can physically harm Armstrong with his own fists in phase 2. Boxer feat is done with a weapon, BUT, if Raiden didn't have the needed durability or force, his arms would break, doubly so as he overcomes their KE with his swings, not just cutting them but halt the momentum. He can also tank these being tossed at him so he scales durability-wise too. Sam, Raiden, and other cyborgs can all harm each other with punches and kicks as well. MG4 Raiden's feat was done with his body, no weapon).

Basically how do weapons move a character up a tier?

Sometimes a weapon can empower the character (Like He-Man), sometimes a weapon simply has a better output (Imagine you, but with a rocket launcher, the rocket launcher would be 9-B thus you have acess to 9-B stuff, even if you aren't physically), etc, lots of reasons. Case by case, fiction can be weird, even irl it depends on the weapon.
