According to the original (outdated, IIRC) version of String Theory, the hypothesized multiverse was 26D, and according to superstring theory it is 10D. If this is the case, why is busting a String Theory multiverse typically considered 11D, when there exist several other possible dimension levels?

IsthisanattempttoDowngradeHomestuck

But yeah, kinda related question, if a verse uses String Theory, does this automatically means their Multiverse is 10-ish D?

If they truly follow it, yes.

EDIT: Yes, I was thinking about Homestuck and noticed this. Of course, they aren't the only verse that this would affect, so I made a general thread about it. I'm also kinda questioning how Problem Sleuth having a reference to String Theory means that Homestuck has a String Theory multiverse.

I don't think we should use Bosonic ST tho

If it is mentioned that the entirety of the multiverse is affected, and not just parallel 4-dimensional universes, then it is considered an 11D feat.

I am not well informed, but as far as I remember, M-Theory states that there are 11 dimensions in the multiverse, with time included.

Also, we went with 11 dimensions as a limit for 1-C, due to partially copying the system of the Anime Characters Fight wiki, which in turn choose it because it was a common standard within different fictional settings.

I see. But like I said, is it true that all feats of destroying a String Theory multiverse are 11D, even though there are several string theories that would put it at 10D?

M-Theory is the unification of different versions of superstring theory and uses an 11-D multiverse. As far as I know, the only models that would use a 10-D multiverse (assuming you mean nine dimensions of space and one of time as opposed to ten dimensions of space and one of time) are deemed obsolete, at this point.

The old version of String Theory using 26 dimensions was Bosonic String Theory, which is no longer used due to being far too flawed.

Because Homestuck and Problem Sleuth are part of the same verse.

For example, the Furthest Ring, which is supposed to exist outside "all universes" seems to exist outside Problem Sleuth's universe as well, since Sleuth summons a Horrorterror from there, and the same Horrorterror is seen in one of Rose's summoning grimoires.

BTW, are the planets (the Land of X and Y planets I mean) real planets, or minature sized planets? I know a revision was made where they were considered much smaller than real planets

There is nothing suggesting they are not actual planets. However, we do not know exactly how big they are, so it is best to consider them basic planet level.
