I see. How does it deflect exactly? Does he just do the stance and his body is like Protected? Do you have a link to it being used possibly?
 
Doppo basically stomped Dorian who is comparable to Retsu.

Also this chapter shows Mawashi Uke in action.

If you want someone not as strong, but also not as hax as Dorian. Retsu and Katsumi are both great choices.

Retsu is basically Dorian but no mind control and better H2H combat especially with his feet.

Katsumi is weaker than Dorian but has some moves that allow him to hurt people stronger than him and also possesses the Mach Punch which although it is extremely powerful it is a double edged sword.

Both are great choices, I'd be down to see Cuphead fight either

It should be up to 00potato wether they take the dive out of the tournament or replace the character with someone not so AP high or haxy

Looks like a win for your guy imo. Guy doesn't have any guns despite being a gun master. His beast form is restricted, so no use there. And the guy doesn't use magic. So there goes power null. probably shouldn't debate any more on that until the match actually happens
