Going to be fully honest we should remove the "With Chaos Energy" keys. It was made back with movie 1 where Sonic spent a chunk of his time without using his powers because of his trauma, but nowadays it doesn't really apply since Sonic uses his powers willy nilly. Chaos Energy is just part of their being like KI is in Dragon Ball, not a transformation. Stuff like Sonic getting hurt by a badnik in Movie 1 is like Goku getting hurt by a rock. Because they're just casual outings where they're either off-guard or just not using their powers.

So I believe we should just straight up make straight up 6-C and just add a note in the pages they're weaker while not using their powers/off-guard/out of combat. I think giving them a base key is like giving Goku a "no KI" key.
Yeah sense we're keeping it people keep asking is chaos energy a UES

Unfortunately I don’t remember much of Sonic 2 as I was unable to rewatch it prior to Sonic 3, but based just on the Knuckles show I’m inclined to agree. Knuckles is shown dishing out and taking damage from the G.U.N. Agents using every way they’ve portrayed the animal characters in fights (with no energy, with energy around his fists, with energy around his body and with red eyes).

Sonic 2 is the same. Sonic takes hits from a charged fist, from Knuckles fully charged, etc and etc.
Then yeah that would make more sense.

Should Sonic have a separate key for Sonic 1 that’s “9-B, up to 6-C at his peak” or something? He has much less control over his power and struggles to even harm that one guy in the bar scene.

Sonic gets knocked out by a taser in one of the prequill comics so he dosent really get much stronger after movie one.

It's not that he gets stronger, is that the idea of separating Sonic "with" or "without" Chaos Energy is uneeded because it's like making a Goku page with a "with" and "without" KI keys. Read this part again:
note they can be caught off guard or are weaker out of combat and what user has said
The reason for a Movie 1 key because that's the only movie Sonic actually struggles using his powers and thus a separation between Chaos Energy or not is needed.

For the Knuckles show, were Wade breaking out of that cell or Knuckles carrying that giant sphere ever calced? Dunno if that second one is worth anything but still.

Also I just checked that Wade moment and I’m pretty sure the top of that cell is actually just cardboard, so not as impressive as I remembered (coulda swore it was steel or at least wood, but welp). I’m not great with calc stuff, but I imagine that would still be 9-C considering the jump itself and how easily he ripped through it.

Yeah but its gotta need more than 1 requirement usually like 3 or 4 reqs need to be met, its gotta spaghettify, should have a discernable accretion disk and event horizon, the lightning coming out of it does kinda not bode well for that

Wiki be picky with black holes
At this point only the animation vs physics Black hole was able to do all the reqs...and the series was haxed from the wiki

🎅 Merry Christmas Peeps! 🤶

Last comment before I take a break from the forum, if Chaos Energy does end up as UES we already have enough for a page imo:

*Aura (demonstrated by Sonic, Knux and Shadow),
*Statistics amplification (demonstrated by everyone)
*Empowerment/Rage power (demonstrated by everyone, tho most notably by Sonic)
*Energy manipulation (self explanatory)
*Electricity manipulation (self explanatory)
*Heat manipulation (demonstrated by Sonic and Knux, Shadow naturally should scale)
*Limited Technology Manipulation (Demonstrated by Sonic, tho Knux and Shadow's energy can empower tech).
*Limited Absorption (Demonstrated by Sonic and Knux, Shadow should scale).

There's probably other stuff I'm missing but you'll get the jiff, cya in the new year peeps!

What if instead of using the GBE of Earth for the eclipse canon we used Neptune's GBE since it's 30,000 ish miles in diameter while the given value of the eclipse canon blast is a 50,000 miles.

Presuming Knuckles’ non-FoD peak is comparable to Sonic and Shadow’s (which I feel makes sense since Knuckles is meant to be the muscle of Team Sonic), you could arguably use Knuckles and Wade’s fight with The Buyer to downscale Knuckles and Sonic’s lower levels from their peaks. Pretty sure baseline 5-C is like 1/3 of Shadow, so maybe downscaling them to that value is fair.

Without this argument though I don’t see a way for Sonic to always be 5-C, only at his highest levels.

If 5-C base in general is the aim, then Knuckles and Sonic should have it as the peak of their "varies" tier

Shadow is locked for 5-C cuz he gets it from downscaling from his emotional peak that powered the Eclipse Cannon

Varies, at least 6-C, up to [X] makes the most sense for Sonic and Knuckles if they get tier 5 base scaling

Is there any reason to scale Team Sonic to base Shadow? At most 5-C?
Because Sonic isn't that much weaker than Shadow if at all? I swear if Movie 2 came out today people would say Sonic doesn't scale to Knuckles because Knuckles "stomped" him in their first right (down to even no-selling a spin-dash).

The hell is that comparison? Sonic has an outright fight against Knuckles in said movie, in which he actually manages to harm him, while Sonic never has a proper fight with base Shadow before they go super, with Shadow being regarded as "too powerful" beforehand. And this is a site on which just surviving getting one's shit rocked by another character isn't enough for scaling, so forgive me for being concerned over the integrity of indexing

Sonic fighting Shadow equally in their super forms is already proof their bases scale, since the Chaos Emeralds conventionally give the same amp to a hedgehog no matter the continuity. Knuckles from Movie 2 is actually a great comparison since both "rocked Sonic's shit" before fighting equally.

Can't wait for Sonic to get "rocked" by Emperor Metallix in movie 4 so we can have the same discussion again.

While I may agree that Sonic’s peak should scale to Shadow, there’s honestly a notable difference to how Knuckles and Shadow are portrayed in their respective movies. Shadow was able to catch a livid semi-casual Super Sonic off-guard and throw him down to Earth, meanwhile the Great Egg Robot (who was stronger than any amount of power Knuckles could release at the time) was completely helpless against a more casual Super Sonic. Super Shadow was also easily beating down Super Sonic before he started to take things 100% seriously. In Sonic 2, Sonic struggled with Knuckles in their first fight but closed the gap once he took things more seriously. Meanwhile, Sonic 3 never shows Sonic (or Knuckles, who also has the Flames of Disaster to give him a huge power boost) fighting evenly with Shadow before turning Super and the movie even implies they might need Super Sonic to consistently take him out.

Because Sonic didn't fight Shadow seriously until he used Super Sonic. He was trying to talk Shadow down and try to understand him. He went Super to deal with the Eclipse Cannon, not just because Shadow was too strong. Even if we agree Base Shadow>>>Base Sonic but Super Sonic=Super Shadow, that just means Sonic can use Chaos Energy better than Shadow which still means he scales to 5-C since that was a pure Chaos Energy feat, not combat.

True, but there’s still a difference in the attitudes of Knuckles and Shadow in their first fights with Sonic. Shadow didn’t even want to fight and was just trying to leave, whereas Knuckles was specifically there to fight Sonic and get the location of the Master Emerald. Shadow was also able to knock out Sonic a little bit easier than Knuckles was, but tbf I feel I’m getting into semantics territory.

Yup, which means he was working with more urgency than he was with the Giant Egg Robot.

I’m not so sure. We know that the Emeralds can heighten the emotions, senses and possibly intelligence of the users, which should give Sonic greater control over his Chaos energy than in his base. Also isn’t the whole point of Shadow that he can use his Chaos energy better, or am I misremembering? I’m not entirely against this idea, as my grievance isn’t with 5-C Sonic but rather Sonic = Shadow, but I’m still not sure.

I still think Sonic and Knuckles shouldn’t scale to Shadow outside of their peaks. To me the scaling chain should look something like:
  1. Serious Super Sonic/Super Shadow
  2. Casual Super Sonic
  3. Shadow/peak Sonic/peak Knuckles (Don’t think they’re fully on casual Super Sonic’s level as that doesn’t make much sense, but Shadow’s portrayed to be closer to him than the Giant Egg Robot)
  4. Giant Egg Robot
  5. Sonic/Knuckles
