Casuals and normies always believed Sonic wins and the more visceral response to the rematch versus the original proves that.

incredibly unrelated to everything else, but can the Zeti’s Electromagnetic manipulation affect Shadow’s shoes? Like can they stop the shoes from working, or maybe make them suddenly flare up and propel Shadow in the wrong direction at a whim?

Did the Zeti ever even interact with Shadow? Right now there's no way of knowing, but I hope the answer is yes, because it would be cool to see.
 
Anyways I would like to say in defense of the downplayers that both Mario and Sonic have some truly god awful anti feats, so I really can't blame them for doubting that these characters are strong. Albeit a good chunk of Sonic's anti feats are from idw so take that as you will.
 
I am not too concerned for how Death Battle will treat Bowser and Eggman, but Mario VS Sonic 2 does bother me. For many reasons, but one thing I like is how they explicitly write that Mario isn't a strategist, in his analysis, and then write that he'd win based off of a strategy (which also requires information he wouldn't have).

I'm not mad at any particular person over that episode, and, of course, many worked on it. I think it is honestly stupid to vilify someone working on a collaborative project, when they don't hold ill intentions. People do this to Ian Flynn, for example. I don't see it super often in the Death Battle community itself, but I worry of this happening to any individuals who work on Death Battle. Some have already done this to Ben and Chad for killing Goku, despite also having no issue with said Goku being in a show called "Death Battle".

I absolutely loathe Ultraguy. I remember his massive thread where he made a giant thread deliberately downplaying Archie Sonic way back in 2016-2017ish claiming “Sonic is and always will be a mid-tier character.” Not only does this mean he’s biased against Sonic and goes in bad faith, but is also one of the main reasons why 2018 Mario Vs Sonic and Wally West Vs Archie Sonic ended up the way they did research wise. Genuinely awful research, arguments, reasoning, and bad faith in general. Wish he was never here in the community since he’s shown he cannot be trusted with research due to his clear bias here.

I get we're talking about older scaling but seriously that blog is nearly a decade old, I too still get bothered by how Sonic used to be treated as a franchise both in and out the Vs community but the repeated doomposting or dreading up old trauma isn't good.

Just go on a long, fulfilling rant then try to move on.

Ultraguy hasn’t since he still downplays Archie Sonic (and Sonic in general) with his updated blogs whenever there is a death battle regarding him let alone any other Sonic character.

I think it’s valid criticism towards him and Death Battle and it shows that he is not trustworthy in the slightest. Same with Death Battle.

Back on this, but in many communities in general before the episode came out, a lot of people in general showed dissatisfaction with the original results. An increasing amount of people bought into the idea of Mario winning, thus sparking an increase in demand for a Marionic 2 in the first place.

Commonly accepted yes, but only within core communities. Casuals? Different, as more casuals would lean towards Sonic on average.

Tbf Liam did make a blog on why Dio beat Alucard years ago and when the actual episode came out it was pretty much just that blog, so maybe you're not so wrong about them not changing. But well, we will see. I don't even watch their videos anyways.

Meh, not exactly. A lot of the reasoning was mostly the same I recall, but a lot of the calcs weren't the same. Like Town level calcs for the Meteors in Stone Ocean, and the speed stats were a bit different. Changes yes, but also a lot of similar stuff. So it's a mixed case.
 
Since DB leaked here too, there was that PhoenixRaven blog that had Raven winning that Speedy helped up with seemingly.

The only copium for me is that there are some core VS fan verdict upsets that DB did, Zatanna, Obito, Apocalypse and hell kinda Archie Silver. Eggman has a chance since he has way better speed arguments and tbh time manipulation as well.

The result and the reasoning was the same. So not sure on what you're trying to correct here.

It would be really funny if after we talk about what high ends they could use DB just says screw it and makes both combatants tier 7 or 6.
