SMT Sonic has 4 minutes of cutscene appearances. He defeats the Hell Biker, a Demon who is like Low 2-C scaling wise... However, he defeats Hell Rider by running at the Speed of Sound (Creating a Sonic Boom) which overwhelms the Hell Biker and makes him crash his bike into a building and die.

He's not getting a profile.
Damn, even worse then I remembered lol.

And the gang really though he was gonna be special.

Just to check: What indicates that Sonic Shuffle is canon? I know it's referenced in the Forces comic, but the context of that being a joke wouldn't work for making something canon, unless we want to move forward with the Game/Archie merge.

Ficción sin límites already did a explanation on why is canon.
Search that

Is there anything to suggest Shuffle wouldn't be canon? It's clear if Sega wants something to be explicitly non-canon they'll make sure you know (Like with Sonic Chronicles)

Considering it's a spin-off game, I feel it's safer for canonicity to be proven then disproven, so to speak.
If Shuffle wasn't canon, 2-B would never have happened (in fact, attacking canonicity was the first step in rejecting it). It's canonicity has been debated here several times and each time leads us back to where we are now. The Riders series would also be non-canon if we wanna cast uncertainty onto spin-offs.

Riders does have things to solidify its canonicity, though, such as TailsTube, IDW, and Frontiers. I just want to make sure Shuffle also has things to help solidify its canonicity.

I'm not even talking, like, altering stuff on VS battles over this, if it helps. I already buy and don't buy things different to VS Battles, so I'm just asking about Shuffle for my own curiosity.

Right, I was curious about that. I think I should have my hand on it soon, and if so I'll go through and see what it says about Shuffle. That is something that helps, but, if it also ever addresses something like LEGO Dimensions and never clarifies its canonicity, that could be an issue. Granted, I believe Shuffle had an entire page or so, and Ian has spoken of Shuffle numerous times without ever mentioning it not being canon, so, those are the strongest points in its favor I can think of.

I think you're making a mountain out of an anthill. Like JJ said, if it wasn't canon then they'd say so. "Everything is canon" unless they say it isn't, and the Forces comic acknowledging Shuffle even through a joke is enough. It may not meet your personal standards, but its met the standards needed here for a long time.

That same comic references the Anarchy Beryl in the same context, though, so that can't really work as evidence due to that. And like I said, I'm just curious about it for my own curiosity. I'm not asking, wanting, nor expecting anything to change here.

Except it does, because referencing Anarchy Beryl and referencing the Precioustone are just two different 4th Wall Breaks. One is a tongue-in-cheek nod to a completely separate continuity, another is a callback to a previous title.

I still don't feel that comic can be used to support Shuffle, personally, due to the context of it being a 4th wall break that, in the same breath, references the Archie comics. I understand where you're coming from, but that specifically isn't solid enough for it to mean anything for Shuffle, in my eyes.

But then what's the point of a 4th Wall Break if that's suddenly so disruptive to continuity? This happens all the time in media, are we to scrutinize the legitimacy of everything that references other things outside their media?

Except it doesn't, the "reference" to Archie Comics was one that Ian wasn't aware of because he didn't remember that was a thing and ended up saying that while trying to come up with a name.

Also, most Sonic games are spin-offs, there's nothing that states that a Spin-off is necessarily non-canon unless stated otherwise, most Sonic games had tie-ins with "mainline" in their stories and it was never once necessary to think that stuff like Sonic Chaos was canon to mainline. The only game known for sure (That has been released and is more well-known) is Sonic Chronicles with every other game being canon in at least some way (Even Sonic Spinball). So I have no idea why Sonic Shuffle would be non-canon for some reason.

And Eitaro Toyoda, the Sonic Character Supervisor in charge of the worldview and settings of the Sonic series in Japan, had to put a pinned tweet explaining that he would not answer questions about the Worldview and Character settings that aren't in the game.

For some reason, people thought it would be good to google translate questions and spam about Infinite universes or Platonism in order to see if he would say anything, even after he was already clear from day one that he wouldn't answer that kind of stuff. With this one more time the Setting Supervisors stop answering questions because of Powerscalling spam...

Can’t wait until the show says there are infinite Shatterspaces or something

You want 2-A BASE Sonic??

No seriosly who is he
Zastando was basically this guy (or girl I don't know) who used extended guides or side material with basic info or statements and tried to interweaved them with other stuff in the series to basically argue for High 1-B or above game sonic based off of advanced theoretical physics or whatever as well as platonic stuff iirc.

He was basically reaching for the stars lol.
