Sonic General Discussion Zone Act 1: New Frontiers

Taze the funny rocks. I wanna see what happens

Sonic would you rather terrible edition. It's exactly what it sounds like with 3 options to choose from but all of them are bad this time.

1. Be part of the first G.U.N unit that was sent after Shadow in movie 3 (You aren't allowed to abandon the mission).

2. Willingly spend a week at the Sonic unleashed Eggmanland (You will have to ride any attraction Eggmans made but you will be there by invitation so the robots won't try to attack you).

3. Hit the Phantom ruby and the Warp Topaz one after the other with an activated taser to see what happens.
Honestly? I'm going to go with option one. Shadow hadn't met Gerald at that point to manipulate him into destroying the world, so I'd like to try being a friendly face for him and maybe help Shadow process the pain he's felt for fifty years.

Of course, I may end up getting hurt, but it's better than either staying at Eggmanland or being anywhere near the Phantom Ruby and Warp Topaz.

Kek. So I'm definitely not doing 2, that would take me out on own. 1 doesn't seem that appealing considering you're part of what Shadow hates so intently he started the attempt of a genocide.

3 might not be an issue for the Runy, but uh, I don't like the volatility of the Warp Topaz. Here's to hoping my molecules don't scatter into oblivion or I'm teleported to any random location across the entire universe that isn't Earth...

3, probably.

Oh, that reminds me.

Sonic Question Time: Who do you think is the most useless "active" character in the franchise, and how would you improve their role in the verse?
  • To define "active", I mean the most useless character that appears in the franchise most often. (No, you cannot say Big.)
    • Dead characters you feel had more potential than given DO count.

I would say Chaos. Bro is a Nothing-Burger Character and has lost any genuine relevance past his debut game (arguably Sonic Battle). I suppose I would make him more useful by having him actually join the gang as a legitimate character rather than a castaway Master Emerald-related story beat.
Vanilla, she honestly doesn't do anything except being Cream's parent, which would be whatever but people use her to infatilize Cream and other characters that canonically manage themselves pretty fine on their own, hell Tails lives on his own pretty fine and he was only 2 years older than Cream at the time, she also stands out like a sore thumb as a parent of a cast that doesn't have and honestly doesn't need parents.

IDW makes things worse because they treat Cream and Vanilla like an stereotypical mother and child even though Vanilla always lets Cream go on adventures and treats her like she has to protect Cream or is legitimately scary even though she was always portrayed as basically a normal human which Cream has to protect (Honestly that skunk brothers story is one of the most insulting thing ever written to Cream).

This is why I like the GUN agent Vanilla headcanon or anything similar. It makes Cream keeping up with the cast look less glaring, explains why Vanilla was okay with her joining them to begin with, and actually justifies her as being scary for more than just the memes
