Sonic General Discussion Zone Act 1: New Frontiers

Eh I kinda just want more world building from sonics main continuity. Usually it feels like there's nothing going on off screen in current sonic stories which isn't the worst problem to have when the main events are entertaining enough. Still it's disappointing that tailstube and the bumblecast are needed to know that G.U.N was beaten by eggman when a story that cares about more than just sonic himself would have done something interesting with it.
This is actually something I appreciate sonic x for as while sonic and crew would go on their adventures other people were being proactive. For example before the SA2 arc the government got a hold of eggmans tech and copied it making cool mechs and even wierd looking super tanks explaining their presence later. But unlike sonic x we never see any faction doing anything in the main continuity unless they're directly tied to named charecters which I think is a real shame.

Is that "no humans in IDW" rule still a thing? That might explain it.

I've been sleeping on this one idea of mine for awhile, mostly because it was paradoxid out of existence, but....given SEGA has slowly but surely been more willing to acknowledge 06 in any capacity, my idea was that the events of 06 being retconned rewrote bits of Shadow's mind as a result of it. I know it sounds stupid and it is, but given Shadow had a significant role in the game's plot and had moments which reinforced his desire to move on from his past, I figured those things not happening caused parts of the edgehog to regress.

There doesn’t need a reason because Shadow has barely been in games post 06. And because canon reasons to mischaracterizations is cringe as shit. Making Tails "canonically inconsistent" was the worst part of Frontiers by far.
 
They did also say it hasn't entered development yet. It is still only within consideration. I hope it goes through, but I don't want to excite myself just for SEGA to decide not to go through with development.
In regards to Heroes, if they were to add one more team, what would you want? It can take place at any point in time, doesn't have to be attached to the main story of Heroes, can use any characters, etc. I've been thinking of the idea of them doing something like this, and it's fun to think about.

Super duper sonic grade 8 empowered with 10 master emeralds has now been dethroned in power by uber saiyan mega ultra archie starfall shadic in the new hit game, Sonic pinball 2: return to the Starfall islands which sold a morbillion copies. In addition darkerspine mega prism sonic from the Sonic and the secret rings remake dx directors cut has just been announced to be sonic’s next form in his fight against SMT Nazo. In the recent sonic 3 and knuckles super pooper nokia remakes, hyper sonic was nowhere to be seen, with Lizuka revealing they had cut him from the canon for being too “powerscaley”.

What sort of things are you looking forward to in Shadow Generations (yes I'm using the JP title 💀)?

I believe I've already talked about skills. But maybe we can see a glimpse of Super Shadow if we're lucky (which I somewhat doubt). Here's to hoping though!

There's two things in particular I wish for: Shadow being playable in Sonic's stages, that'd be pretty cool, and maybe a brand new stage for Sonic and Classic Sonic...a bit of a pipe dream, but I think it'd be nice if this game isn't just a rerelease with Shadow added in and adds some new stuff to the base game.

a little bit of lore of time eater, i don't know something like ''there is a weird ancient entity who has been erasing and rewriting space and time, and it has been doing that not once, but countless times in a unkown era''.
this will make Time Eater to be more than just a entity that eggman found, but more like a being that has been destroying and recreating space and time, for what reason?because it can, it wants to do it.
it does not need more reasons to do anything, is just natural for him to do this, has natural has breathing

Having Shadow use cool-ass moves, and that Black Doom isn't just some illusion and actually has lines of dialogue.

I know this will NOT happen, but I wanted more stages for both Sonic (Sonics?)

Like any Sonic game, Generations has a VAST amount of stages made by mods, I remember seeing a comment that said "Generations could have been Sega's golden goose if they posted extra stages in DLC"

It would be cool if they managed to port the 3ds version of generations together with the whole game or even remaster the 3ds stages for the remake but I highly doubt Sega would do anything like that

Im an oddball so I kinda want to see the diablon mech again. Wierd choice I know but I've got a soft spot for it.

Anyways I have a scaling question regarding how planet size should be treated since I have conflicting thoughts on the subject. One thing that gives me pause is the sheer abundance of calcs that you could go with if no official size is stated. Sonic for example has calcs that vary from high 5A to high 4C that come from the same feat just because there are afew methods to calc planet size. This in my opinion adds a degree of subjectivity that isn't ideal for indexing or powerscaling.
On the other hand sonic and other series have compelling evidence for large planet size and ignoring it entirely isn't fair to the verse. That in mind I'm considering the possibility of planet size calcs coming with possibility/likely ratings ratings if no official size is stated. In sonics case it would read
Large planet level scales to [x] feat using earth size. likely Large star level sonics earth is probably bigger than our own for [x] and [y] reasons. Somthing like that could be a decent middle ground but I figured I might as well ask for opinions about the subject since I may be overthinking 😅.

I mean tbf you guys have gotten 2-C DBS, Toei, and GT, 5-D Super for Zeno and for every relevant character in Heroes/Xenoverse, and even with hax downgrades Heroes is still a decently strong 5-D verse with legitimate layered stuff to it.

So I think you mates are still eating good, more so then most verses on here
