To be fair, Mephiles doesn't really have a way to kill him either, save for possibly copying his powers and body through his shadow like he did to Shadow in the story.

Goku Black's durability is far too high for Mephiles to hurt, he doesn't have any dura neg techniques, and BFR-ing Goku Black in time is useless thanks to the time ring.

But how far away was the dimension? Was it outside the multiverse somehow?

In the past people threw around Sonic having 2-A sealing/bfr but I forget what the reasoning was.
