Slade likely takes this via vastly superior intellect/skill. While the Ender Dragon can catch him off guard with non-physical interaction, and reflect his magical attacks, he can distract it with his sommons while wailing on it himself in the air. Flight really helps him here.

IDK how immense that gap is, as oneshotting characters who can tank 3.5 kt hits should keep the gap from being too much higher than 2x.
