Should We Not Allow Profiles for a Verse Simply Because We Don't Like it?

Anyway, can we just make a rule that states what kind of content we allow and don't allow? That will end this thread.

Finally. Anyways, I actually don't see the problem. Like I said from the moment I came here, I don't remember any verse being excluded because someone disliked it. And I already agreed with Ven waaaaay back that excluding verses just because someone dislikes them is silly.

Getbackers can be added just fine. I don't need to come up with any solution because I don't see any problem to begin with.
The problem is some people apparently think we don't allow verse because "we don't like them" tho I have not encountered this before.

At the expense of sounding "Alt-y", I'd like to say that writing off **** with a plot isn't necessary. Most "**** with plot" is featless anyway, is a line in the sand that is subjective or at the very least vague in it's objectivity, as Ryu pointed out, and trying not to offend people isn't the way to go. Some people here think Bastard should be removed for the sex (I assume) in there-- I know I saw one person type that. Other people argue that Lovecraft's work shouldn't be celebrated anywhere because of his immoral stance on race, and MGQ is being hounded as rape+**********+pedophilia when none of those things are actually taken seriously both by the fans and displayed in a way that would suggest advocation of these behaviors. If my phrasing doesn't convey my point on the last point, I'm essentially saying this. No disrespect to Ryu, but only prudish nuns would complain about MGQ having ***********-- the girls are more accurately described as "Cat-girl" esque, you know, that trope. No dis Ryu, but I personally don't think that "principles" should make certain topics of discussion taboo-- even if the statements made can be offensive. It's kind of like refusing to discuss a piece of literature because it offends too many people. I think, as long as you're respectful to the other party, discussing anything, especially fictional verses, is fair game. But that's just my raw thoughts at 11:31 pm.

You don't have to be a prudish nun to disapprove of the things in MGQ. Also I never complained about catgirls. It's more stuff like the screenshot Ari posted of centaur sex that literally got removed by a Wikia staff member due to how inappropriate it is.

Yeah that's totally a verse we should let on here. That doesn't risk us getting shut down at all...

And please. No name calling or insults towards my character accusing me of being a "prude" and such. I'm not calling people who disagree with me creeps or perverts. I'd appreciate people who disagree with me to treat me with the same respect.

If people want to like the series or even get turned on by it go ahead. That's none of my business. You do you. But this is not a site for pornography. Take that type of thing elsewhere.

Also for the millionth time a legitamate series with sexual or disturbing themes does not equate to **** with some plot added in. Why do you think Back to the Future is allowed in theaters despite having a rape scene yet an adult film is not?

"but I personally don't think that "principles" should make certain topics of discussion taboo-- even if the statements made can be offensive."

Except it's not about what you want in this case. It's not even about what the bureaucrats want. This stuff isn't allowed by Wikia's Guidelines. Which are of much higher authority than anyone on this site. And could easily shut down this site if we break the rules.

I think making a page for Religions isn't a good idea, but that's just me.

I've seen a person make a vs battle using a hentai character where the girl was like universal level

Been following this thread and reading the comments. I'm standing with Ryu on this one.

Also, I have a question. What is our policy on verses like To Love Ru and Highschool DXD? Now I'm not just bringing this up because I don't like these verses. I'm staying objective here. But these verses (and To Love Ru especially) have a lot of potential for controversy.

I seriously don't even wanna debate this anymore. People clearly can't see the bigger picture here. They keep arguing about **** when that's even the reason for this thread (read the damn title people).

I genuinely agree with Ryu in any case so we please just close this before someone else comes up to me claiming I "support ****" or whatever...because I'm close to losing it....

Well iirc To Love Ru is an ecchi with mild fan service scenes. Not a hentai filled to the brim with pedophilia, *********** and rape shown in graphic detail.

I think stuff which are pretty sexualized but not the extent as some of the other things mentioned like a harem should be fine.

I don't see whats wrong with those two. Highschool DxD is just an ecchi and To Love-Ru although it is borderline hentai (imo) doesn't feature any in it.

@Sera That sucks to hear. Though I myself have never accused you of such a thing. And I don't want to be arguing about **** over and over. However people keep bringing it up and I'm sorry, but I am adamantly against it and will express that to the fullest extent.

As for your other points, as I've said.

  • No "I don't like it" is not a valid reason at all in my opinion.
  • Suggsverse has a few other reasons like its incoherancy, the fact that it purposely gives our Tiering System the middle finger, and general controversy/flamewarring it can cause. So I'm iffy on it.
  • Getbackers has every right to be here.
  • Cthulhu and Warhammer aren't even up to question. They obviously stay.

I am briefly reopening this to give a reply.

The Suggsverse is mainly not allowed for not being nearly notable enough and having incoherent nonsense ratings, whereas Monster Girl Quest contains a lot of very extreme perverted pornographic material, so it would give us a considerably worse reputation if we allowed it, and possibly get us in serious trouble with the Fandom staff.

I am definitely not in favour of featuring either of them.

As for Getbackers, the problem was that we couldn't make sense of its scaling system, as it differed too much from our own, and that nobody in the staff could help out with properly evaluating it at the time.
