Electabuzz vs Lightning

Electabuzz and High 7-C Lightning are being used speed is unequalized equalized, they start 5 meters apart

Slight correction, Electabuzz is actually 187.1 kilotons, so the gap is around >5x

Anyways, Lightning’s most in-character move is to float close up to physically electrocute his opponents, which is a terrible option because of Electabuzz’s resistance to Electric type moves, meaning that Lightning’s attacks would always do half his AP (468.6 kilotons). While Electabuzz also cant hurt Lightning with its Electric type moves due to Lightning being literally Lightning (nor can it paralyze him), it at least has moves other than its focused type so it can deal regular damage (such as Fire Punch which can burn, or Ice Punch which can freeze, neither of which Lightning resists) to Lightning, and by spamming Meditate and Barrier it would be able to buff its attack and defense respectively by 4 times (up to 748.4 kilotons) while using Screech to lower Lightning’s defense by 4 times (234.3 kilotons), just enough to harm him whereas Lightning will do jackshit damage on Electabuzz.

While Lightning may be stronger and more durable, the fact he prefers to get up close to electrocute his opponents is a terrible idea, while Electabuzz is more experienced and is more versatile to a point of being able to turn the tides by buffing itself and debuffing Lightning while Being able to actually use moves aside from its Electric type ones. Voting Electabuzz.

I could have sworn that Pupitar's feat was said to not scale to other mid level evolutions due to its psuedo-legend status, regardless a 2.5x AP advantage would still hurt Electabuzz quite a bit, no?

Y'know, I was actually wondering about fire punch, since we treat Lightning as literal lightning, and lightning is as hell, wouldn't he be able to resist fire punch?

Also is it really in-character for Pokemon to spam the hell out of stat raising moves? It's not like Electabuzz knows about the massive stat gap

Pretty sure that got accepted to scale to second stage Pokemon after it got downgraded

You do realize Lightning has been killed by lava before, right? So a Fire punch would most certainly harm him.

Pokemon are meant to be skilled in battle, so it would eventually have resort to it if all else fails.
