SCP Discussion Thread 4

Their behavior is similar, but Kaktus's second proposal specifies "realities" = "alternate universes" in very clear words.

SCP-001: Calvin did the math in the moments before he entered the void. Order cannot exist forever in a universe that lingers on disorder. One line can stretch on forever, but infinitely many lines invites chaos. Points that intersect. There is only one way to insure this world's future: remove all other worlds.

SCP-001: By removing the barriers for all realities, all at once; save this one. Compress spacetime at the points where it is most vulnerable, and allow entropy to do the rest.

The realities are all infinite 4-D universes.
no part of that (that i see) indicates other universes, since the points thing was almost definitely an analogy, although that "compress spacetime" bit kind of complicates things, since it could imply many diferent things

This discussion (is kaktus' second proposal High 1-B or High 2-A) is probably a large enough discussion to be best suited for a separate revision thread for creating the profile and applying the change to other profiles.

"SCP-001: [. . .] Over time the borders will disappear entirely, and your world, just like all worlds, will become a pandaemonium of infinite realities competing for relevance over each other. Your world will die. All worlds will die. They will feast on each other as they suffocate and then they will die. This is not a hypothetical; it is inevitability."

Infinite realities, in this context, is definitely 2-A.

Djkaktus was referring to the fact that "Narrative" as a term is shared between the proposal and 3812.

Unless we want to debate the meaning of Narrative in 3812, it's pretty clear they are comparable. Again, it's clear in his statement that 3812 refuses to destroy the narratives that Darkbody can destroy.

The word "narrative" in Kaktus's proposal II is outright stated to only refer to a universe.

SCP-001: Calvin saw doomsday, and Calvin reasoned a way out of it. Remove all narratives but this one, and you produce a creation of one. One universe, untarnished by the influences of others.

Kaktus clearly doesn't interpret his own work (3812) the same way we do. We either downgrade 3812 or evoke Death of the Author. Both of which result in 2-A for the proposal II.

The discussion's still happening, wait for a consensus.

"Remove all narratives but this one, and you produce a creation of one. One universe, untarnished by the influences of others. Safe. Your loved ones protected from the encroaching darkness."

It isn't using the word "Universe" to refer to what it's destroying. It's using Universe to talk about the end-result. It's eliminating Narratives, then leaving one non-anomalous universe left. (EDIT) That fits well within author intention; after all, if all high level narratives are removed; the universe that's left can't be anomalous even by virtue of higher narratives, like those described in 3812.

Remove all narratives but this one. As in, the surviving universe is the narrative.

Ah, alright then.

If we make a profile and it comes out at 2-A, it should still have a "Likely much higher" addition to it; as the author clearly views it as a being on the same level as 3812, and it will inevitably be upgraded to that scips' level should anything be added its story.

Do you think SCP-3125 VS The Traveler Would be a fair match?
If The Traveler doesn't have any massive Mind Manip/Possesion/Memory Resistances, he gets massively stomped as the moment he perceives 3125 he gets erased from the Noosphere.

If he has enough resistance, he can't touch 3125 unless he can harm an idea that already has massive resistances to being harmed by other ideas and concepts.

How about Crounus from pegusus seiya
Only 2-A, not High 2-A, and doesn't have explicit resistance to possession/memory manip, only to mind manip.

Should I make the match or does someone else want to?
Isn't it a stomp due to the tier difference? A 5.5 dimensional concept vs a 2-A.

Yeah no, djkaktus's second proposal is absolutely spatial dimensions, it literally has a statement about jumping from 2 dimensions to 3 dimensions and onward
Thank you SCP-085 for existing
Does that mean High 1-B?

My bad, I was looking at Cronus_(Saint_Seiya).

However, Chronos doesn't seem to have mind manip/memory manip/possession resistance. Wouldn't it instantly get haxxed out?

@Phoenix Djkaktus 2 was able to follow SCP-507 into a 2-dimensional plane and then ascended back out of it

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we're going to hit a higher dimensional anomaly that Djkaktus2 will powerscale from and hopefully clear up any discrepancies with the narrative/universe issue.

I mean, it was stated by the author, and now it's practically confirmed in the title of the tale, I don't know what else would be needed short of powerscaling if that isn't enough.

Holy good mother of upgrades!

Monica, well, um. Just read the newest Apotheosis tale. She will likely have a Multi Solar System or Universal Key now.

"Its cannons, reactors, generators, armor, and power were infinite, in the truest sense of the word. Its disparate network of machines floated in the void, orbiting around one locus."

And lots of other broken statements. I'll make a thread tomorrow.

i swear this is going to end up with her being high 1-B or creating some lovecraftian levels of vagueness in terms of power

"It glinted in the light of the faraway Sun. Spires of dull towering metal drifted in the cosmic wind, each with a glowing orange core, each the size of a small city. The constructs contained enough power to vaporize star systems. With one thought, the entity at the center of this grand iron cathedral could gaze upon lightyears of space and reduce them to a hot slurry of base particles. Its cannons, reactors, generators, armor, and power were infinite, in the truest sense of the word. Its disparate network of machines floated in the void, orbiting around one locus."

Monica pls.

Don't be 4-B.

They'll kill you, Monica.

don't forget that asshole with the spear, although she may stand a chance against the primarchs (no magnus, you're too haxed)

ok, so ragnarok, last light, project palisade and K/O all have hubs now, check 'em out

also, SCP 3591 may or may not be Mekhanes corpse, and T.K.O. is some sort of timeline destroyer the foundation has

DJKaktus's Proposal II refers to universes in clear words. Don't try to change the meaning of what the character says himself by backwards scaling him from another feat..

DUDE, it literally says narritives, it's entirely reasonable for that narraitive to just be 1 universe

wait how does leaving only one narrative work if fictional works in a world are narratives that are just lower on the narrative stack? wouldn't the world left over have no fiction?

Yes. And narratives on that specific storyline is plainly stated to only refer to a single universe. Kaktus, as the author, is wrong.

>WoG an anything other than masadaverse is wrong

no

Yes. Kaktus is demonstrably wrong when he says narratives are being used in the same context as in 3812. In-universe statements > WoG.

Either that or the narratives have been retconned to 2-A and 3812 gets a downgrade.

Choose one.
