Demons can resist the demon realm distorting the fabric of space across the timeline making their resistance on 4D and yamato can negs that so unless haki can resist on those ranges he gets negged as well

Just like soul and conceptual manipulation demons can resist both on 4D range and vergil can effect both and same thing goes for his fear and empathic manipulation but he needs to transform into his devil trigger for that one as he can't use it in his base form
