Saitama's power

it was saitama can one punch most of his opponents in the series so ppl assume that he has infinite power plus he is sort of a gag character this is what i think started it but idrk

the original overestimation of saitamas powers originated from an apparent interview the creater of OPM has given, where he stated that saitamas punch has the power of half a big bang

often discussed and questioned so far no one could bring a valid source for that statement, leading to the belive that it was most likely a hoax made up by someone which quickly spread over the anime and manga forums

since that argument was dismissed for being a hoax due to the lack of a source many saitama supporters turned from the supposed "feat" to an interpretation of saitamas powers on a conceptual level, utilizing a line in the original webcomic where it is stated that saitama has broken his limiter and argue that a broken limiter automatically leads to having not limit at all. in addition they take the in-universal rule of him being the uncontested strongest character and project it to other universes as it would be a standard set "rule"

sometimes the argument of saitama being a parody character is thrown in the ring as well - implying a parody character does not have to follow set battle terms when faced in a vsthread - though thats less common than the previous points: big bang punch, no limits due to broken limiter, his "concept" is being the strongest in every universe

i hope that cleared it up a bit
