Saint Seiya Discussion Thread (IV)

Seiya turn into dove (crying)
After a final battle with the Olympian Gods, Seiya who copied it from seeing Saga try to use it on Ikki uses Genromaken and takes control of the Gods and reveals he'll make them destroy all of humanity and has Hades use his power to revive the dead and create an Army

To stop him the Saints ally with the former enemies like the Specters, Marina, who all become super buddies after eating stew together one night, led by none other than Aiolos

Marin blows herself up to kill some fodder. Alberich shows up as well and reconciles with her and also blows himself with herself for no good reason after a speech about how they are the same

They finally reach Seiya, with Shaina, who took the leader role on the way, dying in the process and naming Hyoga the new captain

Seiya uses the power of Hades to summon every dead Gold Saint and Specter from every generation who's ever lived back to life to fight the Alliance, but they manage to somehow defeat every almost all of the Gold Saint and Specter without a scratch and seemingly kill Seiya after Hyoga convinces the remaining Specter Gold Saints to turn on Seiya by giving a 2 pages speech a 14 year old could come up with

Hades, being the key to Seiya being able to revive the dead and control them, lets Shun kill him by decapitating him

The fight continues with a mind controlled Zeus seemingly mass possessing most of the remaining Alliance members who aren't devil fruit users and turning them into zombies fighting for the. The remaining Alliance (Shun, Ikki, Sorrento, Isaak), have to fight them with tears in their eyes while a small team keeps going after Ikki

Saori amped by the cosmo of all the dead Gold Saint and Specters after Armin Hyoga's pep talk deals the killing hit, blowing Seiya's head off his neck with a kick before catching it and necrokissing it

The next chapter starts with a flashback: Seiya uses Mnemosyne to visit Hyoga on his way to the battle and speak to him, erasing his memories of that chat with her power afterwards.

On their chat Seiya reveal that the Saints were created to begin with because of the OG human Athena, who'd been reincarnated child slave who had her tongue cut out and her village burned, fell in love with her master and wanted him happy which is what led to her love for humanity we see throughout the story, so she created the Saints

Seiya is in fact this master, who keeps reincarnating as the Pegasus Saint, and Saori spent the last centuries allowing this conflict to happen because Seiya loved fighting as a Saint

Hyoga still dosn't give the slightest damn, so Seiya goes on to apologize for getting those who died killed, and the fact more of them might die in the final battle, and reveals his true intentions:

He's going to be a super bad guy so everyone teams up to stop him and unite everyone Saints, Marina and Specters would ever happen again!

Also the Alliance is way too late, 80% of all world was destroyed

Hyoga still cound't care less about any of that. Instead he asks about Saori being heartbroken. To what Seiya replies she might be able to move on

That is the last straw: Hyoga finally loses his shit, punches him and starts screaming

To what Seiya breaks down crying about how he doesn't want Saori finding another man for 10 years at least

Seeing that Hyoga changes his mind completely and tries to convince Seiya to find a way to keep living, what Seiya refueses

Hyoga thanks him for becoming a mass murderer for their sake and the talk ends

Back in present time the fight is over; Everyone who was possessed by Zeus gets turned back to normal as Seiya's mind control wears off

Everyone remembers Seiya visiting them just like Hyoga, and start crying at the thought of what a man he was...

Cut a few years into the future, Saori is visiting Seiya's grave with Julian Solo and their child when out of nowhere, a literal Pegasus appears out of nowhere and wraps the piece of his red shirt around Saori. She somehow immediately deduces it must be Seiya and thanks him for it.

Cut a few more years, Saori is buried with that piece of the red shirt next to Seiya.

Cut a few more years: War between the gods restarted, and the Sanctuary was nuked by what's left of the Specters and Marina fearing another Saint like Seiya might appear again

Cut to the distant future: A boy exploring the ruins of Sanctuary finds a weird thingy remarkably similar to the box that contained the Pegasus Cloth

And why did Seiya want to destroy the world? Only Chronos knows.

What is your opinion about the scaling of Lyra Orphée compared to the classics golds saints? Does he scale up to the strongest gold saints or is he medium level? I heard that the statements towards him were hyperbolic and so on.

Prob doesn’t scale to dohko,Saga or aiolos since they were not active/dead, but I could see him being above the others. cept for open eyes shaka.

Right, so what was the issue again? Hyperbole? Because you can't just state something is hyperbolic you have you have to explain why that would be the case, especially when two different characters both describe the attacks as infinite.
I find it very funny people saying that Saint Seiya is full of hyperboles and people mad about it, it's like DB on Facebook lol

Saying the powers of a god would imply it’s common to all of them. Like saying a saint can split the sky implies all saints can do it.
It's like saying that all Saints (or any warrior that dominates the cosmos) have the same techniques and abilities just because they are all human and dominate the cosmos, each character acquires their own abilities with their mastery of the cosmos, what you say is just something about physical strength, which does not apply in this case because we are not talking about physical abilities.

Saint Seiya: The Beginning had its preview in Japan and according to some users on Twitter it seems that the movie was well received. So we will have to see how it is, for the moment I remind your that it will be released on April 28.

A complete look at the costumes of the characters in this film.

I think it was officially licensed. It’s actually kinda fun to watch
This was a pilot episode for an animated adaptation of Saint Seiya for the United States, but the series was not accepted and the pilot ended up in storage, and has only recently been found and released.

Even I sometimes joke about these "hyperboles and fallacies" memes
The wall level Saint Seiya is always an epic commentary to read, although now with what was described in the spoiler for ND chapter 103 (Papillon destroys Sasha's little house), it looks like they will now have to be small house level.

It seems that Saint Seiya is really hyperbole, and worse that he even uses it in his Box manga, bro

Some news about Time Odyssey Volume 2 collected during Jérôme Alquié's live on Pix'Perience's YouTube channel, it is mentioned that a character from Next Dimension will appear (although without having a major role) and the fact that there is no longer talk of a July release for the Japan Expo (France). There is no official date, but it will probably be for September (like the previous volume). Concerning the story (centered on Shun this time) we should know the first wearer the Andromeda Cloth.

Alquié also said that there was a lot of interaction with Japan for this volume, including storyboard corrections by Kuru.

The fact that Alquié mentions the inclusion of a character of ND, implies that Time Odyssey could have some connection with this story, probably the last volume (which will be centered on Seiya) could continue what was seen in the end of ND, although first we will have to see how this story ends.

Ladies and gentlemen, here is the RAW of the chapter 103 of Next Dimension.

Next Dimension - Chapter 103

Spanish translation by Grupo Next Dimension.

I love how Asclepius looks like a sorcerer using his abilities with his scepter, he's basically the sorcerer of Athena's army. And it's also funny, Asclepius (and Odysseus using Asclepius' powers) can send Tenma to the place where Sasha is directly, but Athena couldn't leave the Sanctuary and had to travel for him, basically they keep showing us how Asclepius' abilities are above the gods, even though he doesn't have the power of the gods.

The era of Saint Seiya at the wall level is over and now let the era of Saint Seiya at the cottage level begin.

The return of Next Dimension and Real Madrid wins and gets a good advantage, this a great day.

I'm so happy, CDZ is back!!!!!

Come on have faith in Kuru like last time!
Last time? Last time he rushed the hades arc so badly every volume in the arc makes a retcon or plot breaking inconsistency.

the ending was so bad he went and retconned it in the first 2 volumes of ND.

there’s very little reason to “have faith” in Kuru at the moment.

Exactly!

Yeah, Kuru is not a person to put your faith in
In general, I wouldn't have faith with any manga in this franchise, the endings usually have several problems and feel rushed. Few endings really close the story well, like Omega (end of the first and second season) and TLC.

At least I hope, that if this is the ending it closes this part of the story well, because you can't really expect anything else. And maybe an absurdly happy ending, with Seiya recovered, and all the Saints who died coming back to life because of the changes in time, and at the end Saori disappearing or turned into a mortal as a punishment for playing with the time.

Oddy looking a bit blue there
It is Asclepius taking possession of Odysseus.

A probable homage by Kurumada to the design of Eris in the movie with her blue skin. I also read that Asclepius was based on Lucifer. Once again Kurumada makes more references to the anime than to any other work in the franchise.

The entire Next Dimension being Sanctuary arc rehash just to lead into and top it off with an evil Saga ripoff 😂

Dude refuses to subvert expectations
This is true, literally in this chapter Asclepius is just the Lemur, with the discourse of conquering the world and killing Athena. Kurumada will never abandon his old tropes.
