Sailor Moon Cosmology Explanation

This is a thread I've had planned for awhile. Since this topic is something that would be neccessary in going further with any type of work done on the profiles. In simplicity I hope this thread can be a source of explanation and a chance for discussion to confirm the cosmology of Sailor Moon. Something that plays a part in the characters tier.

Kudo's to Lamin for the original thread.

And Agent from the OBD for explaining more information to me.

This is not an upgrade thread. Its an information thread.

The universes

I think most are aware that Sailor Moon is canonicaly a multiverse, going by its actual two universes and the hyperspace that exists in sync with the space-time continuum of the verse. But lets go just go over this anyway.

Obviously we have the main universe, a Cosmos in which all celestial bodys are guarded and protected by beings called Sailor Senshi. It is referenced that their universe is a "Static Cosmos" by Sailor Cosmos when she explained the Lambda power.

Sca

In a Static Cosmos, space-time is possibly infinite. There is also a source of matter in which fuels a universe of this type, as demonstrated by the Galaxy Cauldron. This is something interesting to keep in mind when looking at feats.

There exists another universe though, a universe of darkness that is adjacent to our own. The Dark World is a universe that belonged to Nehellenia and might or might not have been created by Chaos himself. She is described as being from this universe interestingly enough.

Sca

I know theres sometimes argument on whether Nehellenia's universe is actually a universe, since its referred to as a World. But if you look at the context, you'll notice that Mamoru described it as "Another" World. He could only have mean't this in the universal sense, going by the fact we know Outer Space with stars exists there. Also, the kanji used can really mean World or Universe, the fan version choosing to translate it actually as Universe. Its also worth mentioning that this place exists separate from our reality, implying its separate from the space-time continuum and might have its own.

The Dark World was sealed away along with Nehellenia to a mirror. Causing her to become linked with her universe and the mirror. If you damage her or the mirror, you damage the world aswell. They all support the other.

This universe was obliterated by ESM at her weakest.

Moving on, lets discuss a place thats like a universe, but not entirely so.

In Sailor Moon, there exists a form of fourth dimensional hyperspace that is in sync with the space-time continuum. This place exists inbetween timelines and is guarded by Sailor Pluto.

Sca

It is confirmed to be a place where distance and direction do not exist, and appears to be a literal space composed of the fourth dimension itself. It is explained as such by these scans.

This is what drives me into the next part of this thread. The fact of multiple timelines existing in Sailor Moon.

Its easy to see atleast two timelines exist in Sailor Moon. The main timeline and then the one that Sailor Cosmos comes from. How do we know she comes from a different timeline though? Well, simply put she never met her own version of Sailor Cosmos when she was Eternal Sailor Moon. She had nobody basically, and while she still didn't destroy the Galaxy Cauldron, she was prompted to try and do it later on as Sailor Cosmos.

Star Seeds

This will be the simplest to explain. Basically they are the concept of life and existence for whatever they are. Which can be anything to planet, star, or even a normal person. Interestingly, some star seeds grow into Sailor Crystals, which hold immense power and the abilities of the Senshi that uses it.

The Galaxy Cauldro

A place thats determined by alot to be only a Galaxy level feat. The Galaxy Cauldron is constantly implied to be the creator of the universe in the story. Evidenced by it being said to create all celestial bodys, rather than a galaxy's worth of them, and the fact it connects to all points in the space-time continuum. Going by the use of a Static Cosmos and the Lambda constant in reference to the power and use of the Galaxy Cauldron. We can infer the Galaxy Cauldron is constantly creating matter and sending it out into the universe via a celestial river explained in the story. Its also explained that if you destroy the Galaxy Cauldron, it will appear again somewhere else, implying that it does this to continue creating matter for the universe.

I'll probably edit this thread some. But I hope this is informative.
