Ruby's aura can take hundreds of attacks from others on her level and her auras maximum durability cap is 70 times her base durability of 74 Exatons, but can still break from overtime damage like a health bar in a video game

At the bottom of the skill chain is aura users as a whole. While every living being in RWBY technically has Aura, actually being able to utilize it for things such as defense, regen, and senses requires years of training and a high enough degree of martial skill (and yes you actually need martial skill for it) that only a small percentage of the population of the entire planet ever become skilled enough to utilize their aura. Of that small percentage, an even smaller percentage ever become skilled enough to manifest/control a Semblance (yes semblances are also skill-based). To reach this small percentage comes to the second half of the bottom of the chain: Almost every character worth their salt in RWBY has spent their entire life training in combat and can fight hordes of Grimm with little issue (Almost because Jaune exists). The entirety of the main cast of RWBY was initially enrolled at Beacon Academy, one of the most prestigious combat schools in the world, with almost everyone who was accepted there having been trained for almost their entire life to fight monsters, and each one that was not professionally trained requiring a skill display overseen by Ozpin, who has the composite skill of several thousand professional huntsmen that he accumulated over his immortal lifetime.


Thats the baseline for skill in the verse.


Moving up the chain we have Nebula Violette, who not only outmatched Velvet in a 1v1 test of martial arts skill, but was directly stated to be more skilled than Velvet in combat despite Velvet mixing numerous fighting styles to try to throw her off in their fight.


Above her is Pyrrha Nikos, the skill god of the Beacon Arc. Pyrrha is one of the most skilled students at Beacon Academy, having won every combat tournament she has entered since she was a pre-teen due to both her mastery of combat and mastery of her semblance, being able to apply it in combat completely undetected and having done so in almost every fight she's been in for over a decade, doing so with such skill and precision that she has lead many to believe she is untouchable and invincible as no one has been able to even land a blow on her in her combat career. Even without her semblance she has shown the ability to quickly and easily adapt to her combat situation and analyze her opponents while fighting and changing tactics to suit the situation she is in. She has shown extreme accuracy, being able to hit moving targets from hundreds of meters away and strike vital weak points on an opponent mid-combat both with and without the aid of her semblance. She is also highly skilled at using her weapon's multiple forms in combat, being able to switch between forms several times in rapid succession to both deliver rapid attacks and counter others simultaneously.


Then theres Mercury. Mercury is a veritable master of close combat, having spent his entire life training in pure martial combat to make up for his Semblance being stolen by his father. He is shown to be a very acrobatic and agile fighter who relies upon quickly overpowering his opponent with complex kicks that imply a near-mastery of martial arts that resemble Tae-Kwon-Do. He is also capable of a break-dancing style, similar to Capoeira, and makes use of Muay Thai as well. Despite his focus on kicks, Mercury also uses his hands to grapple, block or redirect enemy attacks. His experience and skill are aggressive and effective enough to drive even fighters of a high caliber, like Pyrrha, into a defensive position, with Word of God confirming that Mercury would defeat her if he fought her seriously. Due to his fighting style, Mercury relies on his swift and quick reflexes to counter and block his opponent's attacks as first demonstrated during his fight with Yang Xiao Long, altering the course of her punches and using his footwork to raise her fists and kick underneath or around her attacks. Despite the presumed awkwardness of his weapon's ranged capabilities he is a skilled marksman, able to shoot a phone out of a person's hand from a good distance away, and is proficient at using the many different forms of projectiles at his disposal to keep his opponents off balance. Mercury is also known to be observant, tactical, and analytical, able to notice and deduce the capabilities and limits of Pyrrha's Polarity Semblance after she uses it once during their brief fight, despite Pyrrha using it extremely subtly in combat and having spent her entire life honing her ability to hide her Semblance and its mechanics from her opponents and the general public.


Then there's the Ace Ops. For reference, Atlas Academy's vetting process is canonically more strict than Beacon's due to it being a military school on top of a Huntsman academy, so they only accept the best of the best. All of the members of the Ace Ops graduated top of their class from Atlas Academy, meaning that they are quite literally the best of the best of the best. Ruby not only outmatched Harriet Bree, but scales to the rest of her team in skill who also outmatched members of the Ace ops, Elm in particular being canonically the most skilled person out of all the ace ops, with Clover being the only member ranked above her in combat solely due to his semblance rather than outright skill, and Yang outmatched her in combat. Included in this group is also Winter, who spent her entire military career training to be the replacement host of the Winter Maiden and even without the Maiden Powers is considered the most skilled soldier in the Atlas Military.

This version of Ruby is even more skilled then that due to learning ki at Beacon in a week

Ruby learns how to use ki a week and they know how to use ki better then Videl minus flying

According to Gohan, it's not all that easy to use ki, and Videl's quick picking up of ki control was, in large part, due to her martial arts training. She still had to take time to learn how to even access it, much less control the flow of it, so it'd be all the harder for a normal person to. But Videl had no control over her ki control and can't shoot ki blasts unlike ruby after a week of training back during beacons break

Fought alongside his step-sister Blake and Adam for years


Trained his whole life in martial arts to the point he is naive to almot anything outside of anything to do with combat


Got into beacon without going to a combat school and without a weapon other then his hands, kicks and ki attacks


mimicked pennys beam with ki and made the Kamehameha just after seeing her use her beam once


he taught team JNPR how to use ki during their break


Fought on par with phyrra in the food fight with his hand to hand skills


Could tell mercury was holding back against phyrra and questioned why he quit after seeing her semblance


Figured out Cinder (who they only knew as a mystery woman in all black) using soothing other then a semblance or dust to freeze Him, Ruby and piccolo in the CTT was definitely not ki nor dust or even a semblance but didn't know exactly what it was


Made it to the finals of the tournament with piccolo and his team picking him to go to the finals


Believes yang saw what she actually saw and explains to them he thinks there is something up with that mercury guy but he just doesn't know what


Hears from velvet that coco also saw something that wasn't there in the match against merc and em alongside ruby, making Bann wonder if mercury has a ability to make people see things


See's emerald in the tournament still even though she said she was going to go with mercury so he gets up to figure out what's going on alongside ruby


When he sees mercury and the next fight is phyrra vs penny, bann figures out why mercury held back and stop fighting against phyrra when she showed her semblance


Bann holds off mercury with orange amp (his semblance that gives him a 4x boost in power) and predicts some of his moves but is forced to run away as he still was being overwhelmed


Mistrial arc:


Knew how to fight with his new gun Sword By copying how his sister fought with her weapon


Tried to help Ruby fight Tyrain, but Tyrain was too strong and fast for him but he did dodge some of his hits via predicting them like he did with mercury


Cut off Tyrains tail after he poisoned Qrow before Ruby did it


Ozpin saw bann as a good person for helping Ruby and Oscar to learn hand to hand combat better while he isn't controlling Oscar


after training in haven, all the group learned how to fly via Ki


Fought vol 5 mercury alongside Yang and was beating him together until emerald showed up to use her semblance


Saw that hazel was a massive problem so he made a Shockwave to knock emerald and mercury down to go deal with hazel instead and told piccolo to help yang out while he flies at hazel to use a gravity bash on him (but with normal ki)


He and Nora eventually get elected by hazel but both him and Nora throw him over their shoulders and hit him with a hammer ki blast with both their semblances to make a combo attack to send him flying


Fought Adam alongside Yang and then latter him and Blake and yang fight him but Blake is launched away like normal but


both him and yang know to dodge his attacks and then grab his sword using both their semblances to punch him away and break and throw his sword away


Atlas arc:

watched the Ace-Ops spring into action battling the Grimm, while Teams RWBY and JNR + Piccolo watch the action unfold in awe, Bann was watching intensely to focus on their level of skill which was better then him at the time and it impressed him (important as team RWBY after two weeks of training beat the ace opts, despite them going all out)


trained with Penny and Winter (who are more skilled then the ace opts) for a few weeks in Atlas


both him and Penny fighting back against the ace opts working together even without orange amp or the maiden powers in a 4 v 2


on amity Bann could fight and easily avoid attacks from Neo and counter without using any ki blasts or anything


could fight back against Cinder with Penny despite Bann being 4 times weaker without orange Amp and being 4 times slower then her, he could still dodge her attacks via prediction


was smart enough to know Cinder was splitting the four of them up to attack Penny and flew through the fire without a aura knowing the fire won't hurt him due to his natural resistance and grabbed Penny with a plan to go down fighting above the void in a beam struggle


Ever After arc:


train with Penny on and off for a year in the ever after and learned to control his great ape form with training, something only Saiyan Elites can do and did something that no other saiyan at that point has done or thought of, using the power of a great ape in humanoid form to get rid of the lumbering moments and getting Wrathful, controlling it


could fight against all of Neo's clones all at once and not get hit once and easily stomped them with Orange amp when he was done playing games


Fought against NeoCat wigh Yang, Blake and Penny and all of them could hold their own, fought the Furious Cat in Wrathful and with them being on par, Bann was still struggling

my crossover AU Ozpin unironicly scales to skill to prime demon king piccolo via fighting on par with him to the point it ends with a draw with both of them dying 200+ years ago

Prime Demon King Piccolo is comparable to skill to demon king piccolo arc Goku

Because this Ruby is comparable to skill to Bann who can fight against Cinder using orange amp being on par with her but lost because OA drains aura and is normally 4 times weaker and also Penny who can also fight against Cinder and only lost due to not being used to a human body at that time and focused on protecting others, bann fought on par with the Furious Cat in wrathful and Ruby could also fight the Furious Cat as well

Cinder killed ozpin and could fight well against him despite ozpin being alive for thousands of years and trained with kami, Bann and Penny can fight against a more skilled Cinder and Bann can fight against the Furious Cat and Ruby can too

First thing first, can Anti-Magic even work on Ruby's aura

As Aura is the manifestation of one's soul, so it's basically life energy but a forcefield around Ruby's body and anything she is holding on to, like her weapon

It's explicitly stated to be different then magic, Aura and Magic are two different things and Aura is similar to Ki but also different at the same time as when aura breaks they can still use their ki or magic to fight

Aura's maximum durability is 70 times her base durability, however Asta can still do chip damage to it as it acts like a helth bar in a video game basically also her using her semblance drains aura

Also her semblance also counters it, via turning into a cloud of molecules she gains a speed blitz amp in speed and can fly in this form and even Instinctively split into multiple clusters of particles to go around attacks and she can also charge up ki attacks in that state to basically speed blitz in front of someone and fire a point blank rose cannon at them or something

• Petal Burst: Ruby's Semblance, an ability which allows her to move at a much greater speed than what she is normally capable of, appearing as nothing but a red blur leaving rose petals in its wake. She is capable of using this ability in midair as a means of flight, using it to repeatedly change directions in mid-air and attack at high speeds, and to create powerful whirlwinds that can suck in and knock away objects and foes caught by it and envelop her enemy in a tornado-like rush of air. She also exhibited the ability to seemingly transform into three separate clusters of rose petals, allowing her to flow around an opponent and their attacks before reforming. It is later revealed by Penny that Ruby's Semblance allows her to disassemble herself at a molecular level and reassemble at a chosen location. With practice, she has proven able to do the same with anyone she is in contact with. This allows her to go around obstacles or through paths that she would not otherwise fit.
• Petal Burst+: Thanks to her training under Harriet in Atlas, Ruby's Semblance evolved further, allowing her to move at even higher speeds, while also rendering her momentarily invulnerable while her Semblance is active.

I can argue that it’s likely.

Asta is skilled in his own rights.

He should now be superior to his former self who was comparable to Ichika’s skills. As you know Ichika descends from assassins who were the most distinguished in combat in the land of the sun. She is also one of the best fighters in the land of the sun. Also precog is a basic skill in the land of the sun so fighters are used to fighting with precog users. So Ichika has a lot of experience against precog users.

Asta also has a bunch of abilities gained from his skill. He can throw off Ruby’s senses and prevent his moves from being read. He can predict Ruby’s moves and has experience against precog users. He has skill against danmaku users and he can react instinctively to attacks.

Anything else Asta lacks can be made up for with his assimilation skills. He can copy skills or adapt to them. But I think Asta should be fine and his accelerated development also affects all stats basically.

Asta’s skilled with all his abilities to take on Ichika’s Zetten spamming. So speed blitz amps shouldn’t be an issue. So Asta should be fine considering his insane stamina and endurance.

Yeah she can probably copy Ki based techniques. Asta can copy Ki and battle skill abilities. He may not even need to in this match tbh.

Asta has dealth with this sort of fighting style all the time. Even against massive speed amps and a precog user like Ichika. He has the skill and abilities to defend himself and the stamina and endurance hold out.

Also after training in the Land of the sun, it’s shown that Asta has covered up whatever defensive weakness he has against skilled fighters trying to exploit his rare lapses in concentration.

Not to mention the sword he can use to easily deflect attacks. Win clashes and disorient Ruby with his higher LS (something he struggled to do with Ichika, infact Asta could create his own openings by using Ichika’s fighting style thats similar to Ruby’s except it involves abusing LS to break guard).

Ruby can capitalize on Asta making a mistake, which is very unlikely.

Asta has an answer to all her wincons with his own ability based swordsmanship skills as well as precog. Asta also has that in conjunction with his insane stamina and endurance to eventually break Ruby's Aura and Zetten slash her.

We have only made 20 posts so writing a summary isn't necessary.

Also the one shot gap is now 5x for vs matches, luckily this one is mostly unaffected by that as the power gap is 2.076318743 times and Asta still has Zeten and Ruby still has her aura
