I agree with the OP. Forcing an opponent into martial combat is the least fair thing I can think of. Only extremely overpowered reality warping can actually be considered fair.

Wasn't that well before Rein got notable upgrades, though? Aren't there people well below him who have certain powers that can be used on a 1-A level? Or does Rein not scale to that?

well there's a lot of stuff going on for Reinhard:

• Gladsheimr is a singularity. That basically means it exists outside Mercurius Law and the "flow of Mercury" jurdiction. Albeit Mercurius can force his Law upon them if he wishes to.

• Reinhard Briah is at the Atziluth Degree aka his Briah is stupidly already on a 1-A scale, hence why it's range could increase and some other mumbo jumbo stuff. He was just being nerfed by Swastikas at the time of Dies Irae and was never even at full power until Atziluth kicked in.

• Reinhard screwing with Marie soul is also another feat albeit it's kinda controversial. Generally, we don't like using it as it breaks the scale of the series as lower characters like Ren, Kei Sakurai, could survive its soulhax

• Longinuslanze being made by Mercurius, cursed by him and IIRC is part of Reinhard, and thus should be Mercurius desire to die too (Reinhard is Merc Apoptosis after all).

That's all i could remember that could generally give Reinhard 1-A hax
