Regen in Sailor Moon

Some of you may have seen that the Mid-Godly Regen of the Sailor Senshi has been called under question. So I shall make this thread gathering all the information on this topic. I hope that this information will be used to clear any doubts and open a discussion on the subject.


I hope by the end of the thread, we'd not only reach a consensus, we will have a documentation of this for further references.


Before I delve into this, I must first define certain terms. These terms are important to understanding anything I am about to say.


Galaxy Cauldro

The Galaxy Cauldron is the source of everything in the Cosmos. Every celestial body, every organism. It call comes from the Galaxy Cauldron. All possibilities come from there. If it exists. That's where it comes from.

The Galaxy Cauldron can be destroyed, but this will cause everything to cease to be. However, a new cauldron will reappear again somewhere starting history all over again.

Star seed

A star seed is the concept of a persons' existence. If a person was computer, a star seed would be its kernel. It's more basic than a body, soul, mind. It's metaphysical in nature.

When a person's star seed is taken, that person is dead. Their body and soul and everything about them is destroyed.

Sailor Crystals

Sailor Crystals are special starseeds that become Sailor Crystals. They are the source of Sailor Senshi's power.

Sailor Crystals are virtually indestructible. They can't be destroyed. Unlike regular starseeds.


Lambda Power

The Lambda Power is the holy power of the Galaxy Cauldron and the Cosmos Crystal. It can be used to control the Cauldron and regenerate beings as well as restate the cosmos.

Cosmos Crystal

The Cosmos Crystal is all the Sailor Crystals in existence combined together. It gives Sailor Cosmos her power.


Reincarnatio

Reincarnation is when a Sailor Crystal returns to the Galaxy Cauldron and then becomes a new person. Usagi is the reincarnation of Princess Serenity.


Reincarnatio can take a long time to happen. And sometimes it never happens. Queen Serenity didn't reincarnate after going back to the Cauldron. She was lost to it.

Regenerationn

Regenerationn is separate from Reincarnation. Regenerationn is when a person's star seed gets destroyed or if their crystal gets sent back to the cauldron and they are able to reform as they were before this event happened.

Sailor Senshi and everyone who has a Sailor Crystal have mid Godly regen.


I say this because, we have seen them being erased from existence and then regenerated from that.



The first instance comes very early in the series:


Hotaru's body and soul were destroyed by Mistress 9.

However, she is able to regenerate as Sailor Saturn:

The talismans call onto her and she appears, despite Hotaru's both body and soul being destroyed. Note that this was before the concept of Star Seeds were introduced.



The most prominent feats of mid-godly Regenerationn come at the very end of the series. It is at this point in the story, that Sailor Galaxia has successfully collected all the Sailor crystals of every Sailor Senshi. She then throws them into the Galaxy Cauldron.

This does help in terms of adding better context to why the Lambda Power's Regenerationn is what it is. But the thing is, we don't really know if the Senshi have the Lambda power to the same extent Sailor Moon has.

Also pretty sure Saturn's wasn't accepted as a form of Regenerationn. I mean, you can argue for it since we have no absolute proof it was her Star Seed that recreated her, but its likely that it was her Star Seed. Considering we see a similar situation in the Stars Arc regarding this type of Regenerationn with the Senshi.

Most of the scans from Kodansha do in fact point to just Sailor Moon having control of the Lambda power. You need to provide some evidence that the senshi genuinely absorbed a portion of the Lambda power. Its rather clear Sailor Moon regenerated them to start with, considering its specificaly said the "Lambda Power" regenerated them. And only Sailor Moon had the Lambda power at that point.

Hotaru's soul was destroyed actually. We physically see her dissappear from existence after she was forced out of her body. Its not outright said, but its pretty explicity seen in physical fashion.

Having discussed the matter with Ikanil, my position is still that ESM and Cosmos have a solid Mid-Godly regen, Chaos gets it overtime and finally the others can't scale to it.

Sailor Moon sure is a convoluting series.

Star seed < Sailor crystal < Cosmos crystal < Lamda Power?

So even at the lowest level, regenerating from a destroyed star seed for instance is mid-godly?

But then this all sounds like reliant regen, no? The cauldron is needed for these things to happen, and without it, everything goes poof. So is the one with Lamda Power above the cauldron and exempt from being erased by destruction? Or....?

I believed it was based on the statement of them thanking her for giving them her power and also that they were able to stay and regenerate inside the cauldron, while all the other sailor crystals were immediatly released back inot the universe to be reformed by the time they reach thier home planet.

@UMR The Lambda Power is the power unleashed by the Cosmos Crystal, so they're more or less the same thing.

The Cosmos Crystal is made by combining all Crystals together as one and the Lambda power it unleashes is what brings about the regenerative power.

But as it was just said, it's a collective thing.

The ones who can use it by themselves are Eternal Sailor Moon and Cosmos. The others would need to combine all of their powers with that of Moon to activate it.

For all we know, thats just them describing the Regenerationn. The only real ability they display after being regenerated is the ability to exist in the Galaxy Cauldron.

Well from that we should change, thier profiles from Lambda forms to at least Perfect form then.

And in this form they will have Resistance to Existence Erasure and Intangibility.

A question: If a person was to erase one of the senshi in their prefected forms? What would they be erasing: their starseed? How do we equalize for vs threads.

These scans suggest an entire different picture than the one from the Miss Dream scans. Guardian Cosmos is impressed that the senshi can remain in their original forms not that it's something all the stars can do.

This is interesting. While it doesn't neccessarily point to regen, this certainly points to their reason for having Resistance to Existence Erasure.
