Regarding link's equipment and weakness

Shouldn't link have the biggoron's sword as part of his equipment? And shouldn't we explain in his weakness that the ocarina only teleports him to the temples of the sages, as well as farore's wind being an escape mechanism for dungeons, and not as a tool to teleport behind his opponents and such? People may end up thinking Link can do that in combat when in reality, he can't. Also, can't we explain that his mirror shield can absorb elemental magic attacks and redirect it back at his opponents if it absorbs enough magic, and can we also include that the absorption can be nullified if a different elemental magic attack hits it instead of the one it absorbed?

The ocarina gets much better teleportation use later in OoT and Majora, but your point is right regardless.
