Real World Human Profiles

Wait why can't we talk about real people killing each other? It's not like we actually want them to die this is just for fun.
it's just a gruesome topic, especially considering that a good chunk of our users are underage.

Most of the people that are into VS debates are either teens or 400 lb 30 year olds that live in their dad's basement eating Doritos anyhow

I mean either way we're discussing people killing other people, and either way it's a fictional debate so I really don't think it matters. It's not like someone is gonna kidnap two real people and make them fight to the death.

Seems pretty unnecessary to go out of your way to insult the OP like this. That said, I don't agree with having IRL profiles, nor am I really against it.
I was under the impression this is what OP did... basically always? I'm speaking his language. I'll respond to Smoke's points in a 'mo.

I dont know what Big Smoke did in the past or present, I literally have no idea, but the OP doesnt seems rude

Oh, actually, BigSmoke didn't respond to my actual points. Alrighty then. Seems settled to me, wonderful.

As for y'all who want to use Mike Tyson for a VS Debate

Oh, actually, BigSmoke didn't respond to my actual points. Alrighty then. Seems settled to me, wonderful.
what were your actual points? all i've seen is "we're not debating the killing of real world people" (which i never proposed and actually took measures to prevent) and "even match-banned profiles provide the implication that we have considered how easy it is to kill this person" (which i did respond to).

Also those arguments are pretty flimsy imo. These are fictional debates and having real people doesn't equate to us saying "hey insert person here should totally kill insert other person here" this is literally the violence in video games argument and I really don't see why people are acting so puritan about this.

Sorry for my ignorance, but why is this so much controversial? Sure the idea of arguing how certain living individual would die in a match sounds really weird in paper, but is a fictional match that will never happen, and people in those types of debates don't have the strange "intent" of discussing how gruesomely someone will die or whatever moral implication is being referenced, just how they would fair on a hypothetical fight.

And what are those political troubles?

Cmon man... please don't die on this hill. Never once saw him speak like that, and you seem to know that it's not right to speak like it. This is no excuse for being disrespectful out of spite for BigSmoke previous actions.

I think the concern is that real world individuals might take up legal action against the wiki which, again I doubt they care, and also by that logic we already risk the creators/owners of these franchises taking legal action so what's the difference.

How so? This post is about the rules and limitations regarding real world people and I think those rules and limitations are silly in the grand scheme of things.

yeah, but we should make sure they're allowed in the first place before we consider lifting the matchban.

it's fine. we shouldn't derail the thread over this.

Fair enough. Even so worrying about legal ramifications or moral issues with giving a real person physical limits is silly so I honestly don't see why they shouldn't be allowed.

"Even match-banned profiles provide the implication that, hm, yes, we have considered how easy it is to kill this person. As I said, leave that shit on Discord. Your cringe/meme/funny haha profiles are a different horse entirely when compared to folks who were or, since we're using Mike Tyson as the example, still ******* are breathing."

This was all written immediately after the three bits you did in fact respond to. Even this ignores the issues brought up in the last thread of legality.

I hope y'all understand. No real world people profiles.

i replied to the first sentence of this. the rest of it didn't seem to be worth responding to, since it seems to be a conclusion rather than a point.

do you really think mike tyson's gonna sue us for having a profile that uses his physical characteristics as a benchmark for peak human strength? because that sounds pretty silly.
I hope y'all understand.
i don't

First off... I guess that means you don't really have a counterargument, then. Given you solely responded to my non-points about how this thread was meh in its creation and thus I should respond to the overall topic rather than just the ideas of this thread specifically.

I don't know. I do know that Mike Tyson ain't the only person who would get a profile for this.

Since there's still no arguments in favor, I'm closin' this. No real-world human profiles.
