Two kinds of power null, the one which nulls activation of powers, and the one which nulls the effects of powers

Should we assume resisting one will automatically grant resistances to the other?

No, just cause you can stop someone from activating their powers, doesn't mean you would be able to nullify their Hellfire ability. Vice versa just cause you can nullify their Hellfire ability doesn't mean you can stop them from activating it.

Nope, you need feats/statements backing the specific applications of power-null for example just because you resist magic based power null it doesn't automatically mean you also resist technology-based power null.

^This too.

IIRC we don't cross power null resistance like that unless a particular verse is explicit about it's universal applications.

I would see them as the two as different types: Nullification (negating the origin of the power) and Negation (negating the actual attack/power in action).
