Question about Monika's and Sayori's Powers

All their powers seems to come from the fact that they're in a videogame and they're self-aware. Wouldn't they be rendered powerless once they step out of the media their multiverse is inserted in? For example: facing comic book characters. If the battle takes place in the comic book multiverse, wouldn't their powers just disappear?

Hey, Undertale's SAVE & LOAD only works in video games. Obviously, they'd be unable to do this against a comic book character.
