Yep, another one of these. This one hopefully simpler than the other ones.

Let's cut right to the chase. The page on Radiation Manipulation has this to say underneath its "Types" section:
  • Electromagnetic radiation (such as radio waves, visible light, x-rays, and gamma radiation (γ)
  • Particle radiation (such as alpha radiation (α), beta radiation (β), and neutron radiation (particles of non-zero rest energy)
  • Acoustic radiation (such as ultrasound, sound, and seismic waves (dependent on a physical transmission medium)
  • Gravitational radiation (radiation that takes the form of gravitational waves, or ripples in the curvature of spacetime)
First of all, this is a paragraph copy-pasted from Wikipedia. Don't believe me? See for yourself.

Second, and more importantly, these examples, at least in my opinion, are redundant. There are few, extremely few cases of characters utilizing Radiation Manipulation in fiction for the three examples provided beyond the electromagnetic one (and I only say "few" because I cannot be certain the number is zero, even though thus far I have observed no such cases). Furthermore, all of the listed items beyond the EM section are better covered in their entirety by other pages, namely Matter Manipulation, Sound Manipulation and Gravity Manipulation.

My proposal thus, is simple. We delete the types section and make a note in the description of the page that it primarily resolves around the common application of radiation in fiction, that is to say, EM radiation.

This seems very unnecessary, and with no true benefit. Why should we get rid of the real world actual definitions of what radiation is?

Because fiction almost never (if not outright never, and again, only saying that because I cannot be 100% certain) displays radiation manipulation as anything but manipulation of the electromagnetic spectrum.

It's unnecessary and potentially confusing to even have the descriptions on the page, doubly so when they're already covered by the aforementioned power pages of gravity, sound and matter manipulators.

I disagree.

If we are going to have a power called radiation manipulation, we should at least loosely define what radiation actually is.

That said, we may not need to divide the ability into different types, just continue to mention them.

For our purposes, the summary of the page already does that.

I would be fine with a note that the page focuses on the most common (if not the only) portrayal of radiation powers in fiction. That being EM radiation. I do not think all of them need to be mentioned at all.

I reread Crabwhale's first post here, and currently agree that the other types of radiation are likely better covered by other types of power pages in our wiki. 🙏
