Pokemon Discussion Thread - Red & Blue arc

Sure hope the eventually add sound (or any new type) type eventually to buff the ice type or literally have anything to buff the ice type

You can say that again....

But at this point i doubt theres a new type being remotely planned.

Ice types just don't work for me

Yeah, Ice has amazing offensive type matchups, so it's nice to have STAB for, but having no Resistances except Ice is awful. If your other type is now neutral to Ice, congrats! You're Neutral to Ice, just like any single-type Pokemon of 9 other types, including Normal! Except you also get Ice-type's weaknesses.

If only Inverse Battles was a regularly supported format....

Makes me wonder what Frosmoth is like in Inverse; Ice is amazing, defensively, in Inverse Battles, while Bug is amazing offensively in Inverse Battles, as Bug is normally resisted by SEVEN types.
Although, from what I recall, Normal is offensively oppressive in Inverse Battles, being unresisted by everything except the 3 types it's Super-Effective on.

I don't get why it was necessary to make an ice type. Why not just fit that under water type?

Same with bug type, ground type, steel type.
Ice share no weaknesses with water and only one strength against ground and a resistance to ice

That makes sense. It will be problematic that a Pokémon that is literally a block of ice will no sell fire type because it's water

Ice is fine.

At least now they can be more useful by Terastalizing

I was kind of hoping we would be able to choose between the default weaknesses and the weaknesses of the Terastalized form, but I guess that's too much of a customization

Now I get why humans used to marry Pokémon.

Anyway

Is there a reason why "this Pokémon embodies this" and that is never taken seriously??

Im curious. Because for instance, not all Ghost Pokémon are spirits. Some of them are born from Abstractions like emotions and such

Sandygast
Born from a sand mound playfully built by a child, this Pokémon embodies the grudges of the departed.

Grudges of the dead have possessed a mound of sand and become a Pokémon. Sandygast is fond of the shovel on its head.

If you build sand mounds when you're playing, destroy them before you go home, or they may get possessed and become Sandygast.
Key here is getting possessed by Grudge as an abstraction.

That's besides the fact many Ghost Pokémon can directly interact and eat emotions for breakfast, of which are neither physical nor spiritual.

And then there are the many legendaries who embody X but are never taken seriously...... Why? 🤔

My friend said that he thinks the spacetime distortion from the flame plate in the arceus chronicles special reach arceus dimensions, i think this could be supporting evidence for the hax thread, anybody can confirm it

All current Pokémon CRTs....... Dead

For your statement..... I don't remember much. What I do remember is the space time rift was meant to bring Cyrus back from the DW

Pretty sure in the special they brought back the entire universe he created, and so arceus felt the distortion and sent the lake trio

It won't change much..........

With DT around, you'd need very strong evidence to get this crt accepted. Not strong, very strong

I think we should avoid making a crt without very strong evidence from now onwards.......

It's the main reason our crts get rejected, over 4 of them, dead. If the evidence was strong, there's not much anyone can do to oppose it

What is the Canonicity of these on the wiki?

1. PMD

10. Pokémon Masters
Not canon to mainline games but is it's own canon
11. Pokémon Unite

Dream mist can be collected and used to manifest dreams in the Entralink.....

Shouldn't some humans be SuperGenius for this, I mean, humans built the entralink

Super genius requires having at least 3-A tech, at least from what this sounds like:

Take note that for a Supergenius rating to be given based on technological prowess, the character in question should be able to essentially warp reality as they wish on an at least universal (3-A) scale with their inventions, or even use them to overpower tier 1 entities for higher cases. Simply defying the laws of physics with futuristic technology is very common for Extraordinary Geniuses as well.

Is the entralink a universe itself or just a place that connects them and stuff, i think the latter would only be extraordinary genius, higher than the rest of the verse of course but still.

Nah, we have super genius people. Scientists in team galactic and future team rocket make stuff that can control dialga and palkia as well as ignore space time manip of those pokemon.

I was referring to the entralink stuff specifically, team galactic and alternate team rocket are supergenius definitely, but imean't the rest as in, generic scientiests

Technically Goh can also recreate the team rocket tech which was ignoring Dialgas multiverse time reversal so Supergenius Goh

As arceus0x said, they can affect 2-A beings and nullify their hax, and controlling their energies like the red chains using the lake trios energy or something
