ALTERNATE TITLE: BUCKET OF BLOOD AND BUGS
Well, here's another story of Malak expanding his list of benefactors. Can't believe it's taken this long to reach it.
● ------------------------------------- ●
It had been a while since Carrie's rude awakening had hit her. And now here she was adjusting to yet another major change in her life. In this case, it was ending up in a horrific mansion of horrors and torture with no way out. Thankfully besides her less than savory introduction to the place, she had been accepted well enough by some of the mansion's denizens. For today or whatever timeframe was used in the place, she was standing in some odd casino-themed lair.
"Come on, come on! You're just in time!" Agatha greeted while pulling Carrie's hand.
"I suppose you need a while to adjust to your new home, or our presence. So uh, I decided to set up a girls sleepover. I hope that doesn't make you uncomfortable, that does happen sometimes," Spooky added.
"N-no! It's fine, it's OK! I'm OK with it," Carrie reasoned before looking at the person standing next to the ghost girl.
"Oh, right. I haven't introduced her. Her name is Shock, she's a new addition like you but uh... she did come willingly so maybe it's different? I don't know," Spooky explained while the little girl with an oddly long face walked over with her hand extended.
"Hi Carrie!" Shock greeted, her approach causing the teenage psychic to flinch.
"Uh, sure. Hi! Can you please not touch me?" Carrie asked.
"Aw, you're no fun..." the costumed child lamented as her joy buzzer started to spark.
"Anyway, I'm really thankful for all this. Really, I am. But does anyone know where the bathroom here is?" the teenage psychic asked.
"Oh, take a right after the first fork and then take another right!"
"OK, thanks!"
With one member of the sleepover gone, the girls looked at each other in silence as they wondered about what to do while their companion was gone. Agatha ended up speaking first after barely a minute has even passed.
"So! Daddy said he's still working on the deal with your boss. How's it going?" Agatha asked.
"It should be finished today actually! We'll finally have our own Halloweentown! With blackjack! And insects! His words by the way," Shock explained.
On the other side of the lair, Carrie had just exited the bathroom with a look of disgust on her face. Having seen the horrors of the mansion and the drug industry, she had mostly been desensitized. Still, having all the water in a bathroom be replaced with enough bugs that they could flow was enough to discomfort her. In her rush to return, she ended up passing by an open space which had an opening on one of the walls. She could hear something from behind said wall, prompting her to investigate. Inside, two creatures stood on opposite sides of a table while discussing something.
"Alright Malak, let's do this!" the humanoid sack creature exclaimed.
"Let's start with something simple, Oogie. If I win, you will not leave this place without my permission. If you win, you may leave and return whenever you wish," the demon in a suit replied before throwing a pair of dice down.
"Ha, 8! Not bad. Now come on! Big money big money!" Oogie said after swiping the dice, shaking it in his hands, and throwing them down, revealing a 6 and a 4.
"A ten! You lose, demon!" As he rushed to swipe the dice back, he was suddenly stopped by Malak's powerful grasp which forced him to drop the dice he threw. He was rudely thrown back before the demon inspected the dice, the room getting hotter as he did.
"This is a loaded dice. See this? Only 5s and 6s" Malak said as he rotated the dice he held.
"Hey, I-" before Oogie could respond, a blast of fire incinerated him in a near instant, leaving only scant few insects running out of the ash left behind.
"I should not have stooped down to his level. I guess I'll have break him first, show him fear that even the Pumpkin King he's told me about never could. Yes, that'll do. I'll discuss this with the others," Malak thought to himself before disappearing. Carrie looked in confusion as she tried to process what she had just seen. Unbeknownst to her, one of the insects had passed through the hole she was looking through before entering a nearby empty sack. It moved about clumsily before reaching a faucet which he turned, allowing a stream of bugs to flow into the sack which soon began to fill out into the form of the recently killed creature.
"Well well well, what have we here?" Oogie greeted, much to Carrie's surprise.
"Oh! I just came from the-" she attempted to explain.
"Looks like that old demon just can't wait, huh? Didn't think they'd send you as punishment," the sack creature continued as he walked forward, prompting the teenage psychic to back up.
"No no no, you're mistaken! I'm-" as she walked back, a click was suddenly heard.
It was followed by a clank from above which she instinctively knew to stop by raising her hand. Looking up, she saw what trap she had triggered, a bucket full of bugs which she was holding up with telekinesis. The sight of it turned all fear into rage as she was familiar with it all, even if that wasn't what the trap was meant for.
"Now hold on just a minute..." Oogie reasoned as he was now the one to back up as Carrie walked forward, flinging the bucket to her side and smashing through several walls in the process.
"Cause you won't get another!" During this time, he had managed to step on another pressure plate though this time, it activated the mechanisms of the room. The floor began to spin as the lights turned on, revealing it all to be a giant roulette wheel. As she struggled to get her balance, Carrie noticed that her opponent had vanished, much to her annoyance.
