One Piece General Discussion: Elbaph

I'm planning something, but I don't want to invest too much time if someone will just bring out some databook statement or some shit and one-shot my idea. So, I'd like to run the idea past everyone before I make any plans.

Luffy is way inferior to Dorry and Brogy, but he still scales to Baroque Works agents that took them down.

Two of Dorry and Brogy's crew that are explicitly weaker than them participated in the Enies Lobby assault, where they beat Yokozuna and took down jurymen that threatened Chopper and Nami.

So, basically, my plan is to more closely connect the Alabasta, Skypiea and Water 7 ratings than this current 45-500 x gap.

I take Dorry and Brogy being beaten like that as an outlier (besides Mr. 3 restraining them with wax), especially as Shanks considered them strong enough to help him put Kidd and his goons on the #metoo movement, among other things.
 
That seems like a huge outlier, or maybe them just getting stronger for no reason (as One Piece loves to do).

Edit: Nah, it's not an outlier. It's just them being specifically picked (as Shanks tells them to get into position) to sink Kid's ship after Shanks already beat the members of the crew with more than 3 appearances.

Mr. 5 one-shot Brogy, and Mr. 3 stabbed through his hand.

Well, it's not a counter-argument. Just an opinion. If you want to go for it then feel free.

Either way it doesn't seem like you'll be removing the power gap that you speak of, just moving it along somewhere else.

But, I assure you, one of my plans is to make OP scaling a lot less... messy than it is currently. This is just one small aspect.

Anyway, if there's more concerns, I'll address them tomorrow. I'm going to bed.

They broke out of Mr. 3's candle wax without any form of assistance, were explicitly too powerful for the combined agents at Little Garden to fight without an ambush, and one-shot the Island Eater.

Luffy made enough force to send him backwords even tho he was already injured, if your way superior than someone, the force from luffy shouldn't be able to do that still

Dorry even says he underestimated him proving he's not way inferior as you're saying he is

I'm probably dumb for taking so long, but I just realized that there are shockwaves whenever Luffy was moonwalking, he was likely turning the air into rubber and was trying to bounce off of it lol. Either that, or his moonwalk out here making shockwaves.

Idk, sometimes there's just weird or inconsistent scaling.
Like Issho and the others not being able to break the Birdcage (though you could argue it was for sheer plot), Vista not being able to cut Akainu despite clashing with Mihawk's Armament, etc.
Though if I recall correctly, they poisoned Brogy beforehand, so even if it's not an outlier they'd only scale to weakened Brogy.

Brogy was never weakened. You're thinking of Dorry.
