Netflix's Kira meets the original L

L might win, since he knows Light exists...it's also GG if this version of L is the same version that knows about the death note.

Netflix Light's Death Note is considerably more haxxy though. And he kills people from all over the world right off the bat instead of starting out with specific dudes, so L can't really single out the city he is in. All he can get at the beginning is a time zone.

Wasn't Light found out in the movie? Also, if this L already knows about the Death Note, things may be easier for him. The real problem, though, is that this Light is much more haxxed...

While the Death Note itself is more haxxy, the knowledge Light has on it is pretty questionable, especially since some of the things it does contradicts its own rules.

The movie doesn't explain how Light was found, it just says Movie!L did it somehow.

The reasons for L are exactly why I redid this thread. "L wins because he is the greatest detective in the world" is a goddamn awful reason.

The drive behind the arguments for L's win in that thread were "Netflix Light was found by a worse version of the original L", but I'm 99.99% sure that L finding Turner in the movie was PIS. They didn't explain how he was found or what he did, and it was shown that Turner killed dudes from all over the world so L somehow managing to find him in Seattle is really weird.

Well how about this reason. L would likely have the edge here due to the fact that he has the advantage of not dying right off the bat thanks to his undercover name. Also I haven't caught up completely on Death Note so I swear to god if anyone spoils what L's name is....... Light also isn't nearly as intelligent as his canon counterpart. So when L does inevitably find him, he'll won't have much issue with his mind games considering that when Light was confronted by movie L, he immediately broke and told him that he was Kira. Once that happens, he'll be taken into court, shows how much of a psycho he is by telling the world that he kills people by writing their name on some random notebook. And L gets to have a full cake all for himself as a job well done.

@Glass

Flix Note can kill with nicknames. Light just needs a face.

Light not being as intelligent is also an advantage considering his intelligence is what led to original L getting involved in original Light's personal life. Only a few thousand people in all of Kanto had parents with confidential police information, and only a few of those were high level students enrolling university.

IIRC anime Light killed people all across the world too and L found him based on his killings coinciding with the japanese school scheduele. It was just luck that L tried the exact prefecture Light lived in first and that Light fell for his trap. L even stated he had back up plans if that failed.

L wins, end of story.

@Triforce

No. He knows Light exists as in some guy who can kill from afar exists. Same as with Light. He doesn't have his past knowledge or experience on the Death Note.

> IIRC anime Light killed people all across the world too and L found him based on his killings coinciding with the japanese school scheduele

Incorrect, L found him because his first victim had been a very local criminal.

Really?? Is it because of that Watari thing?

Light still has connection to confidential police information since his dad is still a police officer there. It's just going to take longer for L to find out where exactly he's at.

@Kep

I agree that that thread is...questionable (I argued against L winning)..The difference here is that you didn't specify which version of L this is...So I would be forced to assume it's the L who has knowledge of the death note...and has gained experience against Light Yagami.

In the other thread I assumed it was the version of L who didn't even know if Kira was an entity or some supernatural Phenomenon (He only confirmed it was an entity with the Lind L Taylor thing).

> Turner's first kill was some random bully right next to him. How is that an argument?

Yagami's first kill was a criminal whose death was being televised. There's an enormous difference between a random bully and a criminal when it comes to an investigation. That bully would not even register.

It kind of is an argument when the bully is close to where he lives. Which means L knows where the first murder took place since he died in the same way that all of Turner's other victims died

That depends on whether or not you believe L would notice that guy's death and tag it instead of writing it off as another kid dying from drugs or something. The bully was a random kid and not a criminal. Doubt L would notice it or suspect anything.

Not immediately, but when he starts having more clues about "Kira", he's most likely going to connect the facts.

Considering the fact that Light's mother's murderer died a gory death during the time frame of the Kira situation, L's cat and mouse game might be easier than it was against Light Yagami

(Although, I'm a little confused as to the match settings).

@Apies

His head was knocked off by a firefighter truck going at high speed at him. Considering he was Light's very first victim, L would not be active until Light killed his first criminal

@Kepe L's activity doesn't matter when there's going to be records regarding this particular death considering how out of left field it is.

Most of Light's criminal victims didn't have extremely outlandish deaths, so going by association it's very likely L would disregard it, or not even register it as something Kira did.

Plus, Movie L with all the PIS leading him to finding Turner never noticed it either. He thought Turner's first victim was a random criminal, so that does help a little.

But it does seem coincidental that two gory deaths happened on the exact same day (Or at the very least at the same time-frame).
