True but I’d image a genin wouldn’t be able to do anything agianst an otsutsuki
Wait till you get to the timeslip arc

I actually don't think any of them have reached Chunin.
Likely.
Shikadai became a Chunin in the anime, but the manga doesn't acknowledge it AFAIK, but also I'm pretty sure that was a filler episode, since that episode was literally just a recap ep lol

Either way it's stupid though and def one of Kishi's more weird decisions

Like there is no reason Naruto shouldn't have gotten Elite Jonin rank at minimum after beating Pain

At that point he had matured heavily, was by far the most powerful shinobi in the village and so on
Naruto's circumstances are different from the norm
Being an elite jonin involves going solo missions and having a team (who are usually weaker than yourself)

1. Naruto doesn't have the capability to manage kurama (which was shown onscreen a few hours prior)
2. It's likely that he'll kill or gravely injure his team members during his rampage (there won't be any yamato to suppress him)
3. He's actively being hunted by the Akatsuki. Sending him on solo missions or with team members (who will be Chunin and below) will not be a bright idea

It was mentioned again during team 10 and team Suna mission against Deepa

I think he should have been promoted to chunin though
But again, circumstances
Danzo was the ruler post pain and he had a very different approach
Tsunade recovered and was immediately tasked with war preparations
Not really enough time

To the manga? No
To itself? Yes
They're 2 different continuities, it's pointless to label them canon and not canon.
the more i get into boruto scaling the more id rather them be split.

if it was up to me personally, there are only a few anime arcs i'd consider canon: Academy Saga Arcs (Manga references stuff that happened in this saga from Sumire/Nue, obviously Sarada's Arc, Mist Trip Arc reference, Boruto learns 2/3 nature chakras on screen), Chocho Arc (reluctantly, Kishimoto wrote this arc), Jugo Arc (Sumire leaves her team to join Katasuke), and Kara Actuation Arc (Victor's origins and explains why he wanted to take the Vessel data, and Deepa). Everything else would fall under non-canon personally speaking. But making a CRT on that would take alot of work and not sure if it'll even get accepted so it's not really worth my effort.

One-Tail Escort Arc/Time Slip Arc are dubious for obvious reasons, and maaaybe Labyrinth Game Arc (Only because that arc has the last Kara member Ouga. Since there're 9, and she'd be the last one)

I think Mitsuki disappearance arc should be among
The death of a notable character in the franchise is something I really doubt the manga will retcon

I'd put that in the maybe section. It's not like Onoki (spoiler tagging it so that the dude who's watching doesnt get spoiled) is shown in the manga anyway, so it's unknown tbh. The Iwa doctor that worked with Onoki actually moves on to work with Victor in the Kara Actuation Arc, so ig there's a connection there. Still though - maybe at best, for me personally.

That's fine
There are others that fall into this section
Like the prison arc
Which laid the foundations for Shojoji
Who appeared in the manga iirc

I thought I listed that arc but yeah, the Prison Arc as well is definitely canon, equal standing with Kara Actuation. Shojoji and Victor alike

honestly might make a thread.. but not sure how much support i'll get on it if i do..

for the Naruto being an elite jounin thing,

when was he suppose to be promoted even if they decided to bend the rules?

after Pain, Konoha was in shambles, Tsunade was in a coma, and Sasuke was running around an International Criminal.

Danzo, the acting village leader, does not care for Naruto in the slightest and would rather have him confined into the village than him being on any missions. So Naruto wasn't being promoted after Pain or anytime while Danzo was "Hokage".

Then immediately after Tsunade came back after the Kage Summit she had to send Naruto to a hidden island to keep him from being captured by "Madara". while all 5 nations were prepping for war, aint nobody was being promoted to anything during that time.

and then yeah obv the war was only a few days and nobody is getting a new rank mid-war.

but yeah after the war exempting him from at least having to take the chunin exams should have been a given.

Yeah Shojoji was in the manga way before the arc in the anime, but the Prison Arc and Mujina Bandits arcs in the anime is soo much better and more in depth than the Mujina Bandits arc of the manga, it's not even funny.

Shojoji's reveal in the anime is the best reveal/plot twist in the anime/manga hands down.

Does being able to use more Gates mean a character is physically stronger than someone who can't handle as many Gates?

Oh god

It is dumb

Just because it turned out alright doesn’t make the decision less dumb. It’s like taking your 5 year old inside a tiger pin cuz you think they might hit a tiger with a tranq dart or something. And even thinking on it, shouldn’t have momoshiki been able to see boruto’s vanishing rasegean with his byagukan?
For some reason too itachi was in the midst of war at age 5 and his dad was like "so itachi we are learning, this is what war is like" .

Half of it isn't filler.
A lot of it isn't canon to the manga, but as literally stated by the author, they're different continuities that only intersect occasionally.
Anime and Manga should be separated on site for Boruto, but nobody has enough patience to actually go through the effort of doing so on-site.

We're waiting for the Shippuden revisions to end.

Predictions for this chapter? Kishimoto has kept TBV relatively balanced in terms of yapping and clapping. So I'm guessing the next chapter will follow that trend. So Kurama might explain his story and expose Kawaki maybe. Might get Mommyshiki finally. And a shinju fight. We might get KCM Himawari pretty quickly too considering how quickly Minato mastered it. But I don't think She'll fight this chapter. Might end with Himawari joining the fight idk.

I still don't know that it's the same Kurama. That said, I expect a flashback, or a cut to someone else.
