Actually, there's been plenty of predictions of things getting better that came true, but that isn't funny so it isn't focused on as much.

YES, it was only for a few seconds but when the humans are fleeing down the stairs at the beginning we can see a snippet of MechaGodzilla's head though we knew that already due to the toy leaks from a couple months ago

My plot prediction is that someone is dressing up as Mecha Goji and is using it to attack places. So it's more Kong vs mecha goji, than Kong vs goji. MEANWHILE, the actual Godzilla is just chilling the ocean

You know, not to clog the thread with just Godzilla discussion, but many people have pointed out how MechaGodzilla in this timeline sort of mimics his first apperance. Where aliens AKA the Xillians tried to frame Godzilla by creating a mecha version of the character and have it go on a rampage so that humans can kill Godzilla and therefore leave the aliens unopposed to conquer the earth, and considering how the trailer constantly implies that Godzilla is not acting like his normal self and something is provoking them it's extremely likely that they're going for something similar to Mecha's first apperance.
AND according to the plot teaser given on Legendary's website, it actually mentions that the clash between Godzilla and Kong was instigated by unseen forces which adds credibility to the theory.
