The Chaos Emeralds' 2-C key should also be supported by Mephiles very clearly absorbing energy from the emeralds while becoming Solaris. The Emeralds are also most likely a major part of the reason the Solaris is as strong as it is since Iblis, Solaris' raw power, can be beaten by base form characters.

So basically, not only did the Emeralds empower the people who beat Solaris, they also empowered Solaris itself.

Yeah, that'd probably just make it more impressive if Solaris didn't actually even absorb the "full power" of the Chaos Emeralds.
