Mighty's Item Boxes

I saw recently that Mighty the Armadillo has item boxes as his standard equipment. However, out of all the classic Sonic games I played, not once do I remember you taking item boxes around with you; they are simply power-ups that you find in levels.

Can someone explain why he has item boxes listed as standard equipment?

As I explained in the other thread, Sonic characters are allowed all of their possible power-ups from the get-go, since a lot of their major haxes come from them. If not, then people could argue in Sonic matches that "Well, Sonic would have to get that power-up first, so he probably can't use that." This is kind of the same thing as allowing Pokemon to use all of their moves even though they're only supposed to have access to four moves at a time.

I answered that in the other thread:

"But it's true. If Sonic's only way of using a certain hax is through a powerup he finds, not takes or carries, in a level, then it's not something he has normally.

Sonic characters should not be given special treatment on this. If it turns out that almost all of Sonic's haxes are based on that, that's not my problem."

Difference with Pokemon moves is that once a Pokemon has learnt a move, it can use that move again in any different scenario. Mighty doesn't carry shields around, nor does he learn how to make shields afaik. He simply finds the shield and uses it as a temporary power-up.

I know there's a good reason for Sonic characters to have the item box power-ups, most likely for balancing purposes.

But since I don't trust my own knowledge about the subject, I contacted a Sonic expert to clear the air about this.

I do not think powerups should be counted as standard equipment as its something found and used [during the level] in gameplay.

Alright then. So would it be ok to remove Forcefield Creation and Invulnerability from Mighty's profile?

No. All the other char. have them based on the items they find during gameplay, but its not standard equipment so i made a little edit.
