"managed to very slightly resist the control of the Golden Armor [Its wielder told Mewtwo to kill someone, and he resisted it enough to teleport them while making it look like he killed them], which was giving Arceus quite some trouble"

Is there like, a reason this isn't a massive outlier?

I mean, this could easily be argued in reverse. Arceus' Mind Manipulation Resistance is crap because it is on Mewtwo's level.

Well just because Arceus has trouble resisting it doesn't mean Mewtwo resisting it a little is an outlier since power doesn't equal resistance.

Unless Arceus has some godlike resistence to Mind Hax and is stated to the any other Pokemon in this regard.

For starters, the reverse can't be true for several reasons. One, Arceus is 4-D, and therefore his mental defenses are innately tier 2. Two, Arceus has the Mind Plate, which negates all psychic attacks, including mind hax, and three, he resists the Red Chain, which can control Dialga and/or Palkia, who can't be affected by an individual member of the Lake Trio, who have multiversal mind hax each.

No one ever mind haxed Mewtwo to my knowledge.

An outlier is when the feat is contradicted.

Also no, Arceus' mind resistance is 4-D because it can't possibly be non 4-D and we had a thread about that not too long ago

It's as much as a mental resistance outlier as Homura being able to affect Madoka. In that it isn't.

Also, Matt was on the thread where this got accepted, and Mewtwo's not the only character in the verse with Arceus level hax.

You know this is just reinforcing that it's an outlier for Mewtwo right.

"Also, Matt was on the thread where this got accepted"

You say that like opinions can't change.

Keep in mind that Mewtwo's resistance to the Golden Armor is <<<<<<<<< Arceus'. And as Kal said, an outlier is something that's inherently contradicted Mewtwo having that level of mind resistance isn't contradicted, because the only thing that took over his mind before is the Golden Armor itself.

Again, why is the standard assumption here:

"It gave Arceus difficulty and Mewtwo endured it so his Mind Hax resistance is Tier 2"

and not

"Mewtwo endured something that gave Arceus difficulty, so that must be an outlier"

or even

"Arceus had difficulty with something that Mewtwo endured, so Arceus' Mind Hax resistance is comparatively shit"

The former has no backing beyond a desire to make the characters stronger, and the later two are more reasonable. If Arceus has Tier 2 Mindhax Resistance feats, it is an outlier for Mewtwo. If he doesn't, and this is his only Mindhax Resistance feat, than his Resistance is crap.

Plain and simple

A feat is considered outlier only when contradicts other feats from the character (Like Kirby defeating a 3-A and then struggling against 4-A characters). But, iirc, Mewtwo has never been mind haxed

Matt, it's the same reason Homura has 2-A mindhax, Clockmon has High 2-A timehax, Yakou Madara has 1-A barriers, Ultimate Kreimhild Gretchen has tier 2 shiz in her tier 5 form, Martian Manhunter has tier 2 mindhax, etc.

I hate using comparisons because I usually get called out for them hard, but it's honestly just that.

"Arceus had difficulty with something that Mewtwo endured, so Arceus' Mind Hax resistance is comparatively shit"

That's not what happened tho and no one is arguing for that.

Also, Arceus has tier 2 mind resistance because he is 4-D. That alone is enough. You can't affect him with mind hax that affects a centillion of normal people and that's independently from its mind hax resistance feat.

Again, my question is what contradicts the feat. Does Mewtwo regularly struggle with mind hax below that?

His hax resistance isn't related to his AP, it's a separated thing, like Keishirou resisting 1-A haxes and stuff like that

Wait, are we seriously arguing for Mewtwo having better mindhax resistance than the verse's God-Tier?
It was accepted, this is a downgrade thread.

The Golden Armor was resisted by Mewtwo, this same Golden Armor could annoy/affect Arceus.

Arceus > Mewtwo.

Literally no one is arguing for Mewtwo's mind resistance being better, or even comparable to Arceus'.

What is being argued is Arceus without Mind Plate (iirc) > Golden Armor (had to struggle to resist) >>>> Mewtwo's mind resistance (was overpowered but still managed to fight back somewhat)

The argument is that Mewtwo's mind resistance isn't infinitely weaker

Except no fiction remotely treats the tier 2 gap as infinite like we do. Evaluate it based on the series itself.

And you have to evaluate it based on feats. Not abuse our tiering system in order to upgrade the verse.

Yeah and? This honestly checked out otherwise I'd be debating Howard for literal hours man.
