Megamind Rules! Additions part 2

which is that the Death Ray beam is never shown to move at lightspeed, having taken more than a second over multiple cuts. Harnessing the power of the sun means nothing, as the beam's power does not follow the output the sun could have on a satellite. The satellite fires at two different speeds, with two different explosions. As pointed out, the remote for the Death Ray even has multiple ratings, which is consistent with your notion of atomization.
Humans can't percieve the speed of light, and multiple jump cuts make the actual speed of the laser inconsistent for cinematic reasons. We are outright told "This is a Laser, it fires beams of light, from the sun"

This is more of a gaff, like the rest of Megamind Rules (is Roxanne MHS too?), Megamind with Metro Man's literal power was beat up by a construction mutant worker. Being stupid should mean nothing (as if you could beat up a brick wall because it was now sentient and stupid).
(Roxanne has been consistently equal to Megamind physically) No it wasn't he was literally just too stupid to actually do anything, you can't break a brick wall, but you can push it over if it doesn't fight back

Beam still takes time before and after each jump cut, slowly lighting up Mega Megamind before it hits him. Beams of light have negligible mass and energy, which the beam does not follow, so I don't see what that has to do with proving its speed? Unless the creators confirmed that intent, which I have yet to see. The term laser doesn't mean much with how flippant it's use is across fiction.

We've seen that physical attacks either don't affect Metro Man or simply move Tighten's head. Megamind even says "ow", which means she harmed him.

It looks like I simply have a different view of the "of light" situation. The 2021 thread boils down to "I don't see why it can't move at lightspeed if it's made of light", and I didn't see anyone acknowledge that an attack having impact force would change it fundamentally from naturally occurring light, especially when it's light being focused and turned into am attack.

For the purposed of this thread, on this site, I guess it is what it is.

You can put more energy into a laser... and it is still a laser. Inversely, you can put less energy into a laser, and have it still be laser... hence why rinky dink keychain lasers aren't as powerful as the super mega death lasers we have in the Military... but are STILL the SPEED OF LIGHT

If the films / tv specials were to accurately portray the speed of light in real time... the entire Death Ray firing would last 0.0066 seconds or 6 MILLISECONDS. 2000 kilometers, within 6 milliseconds.
