You can literally see the scan of the activation on his profile, it's not, it needs to be activated through an attack.

Mechi's only wincon is Absorption, while Lavos has BFR, Acausality type 3, and power mimicry, and his BFR is thought-based and instant, while Mechi takes time.
His only wincon is praying Lavos is an idiot and lets Mechi do whatever he wants.

Also, doesn't the absorption also take a bit of time to absorb everything? Will speed equalization affect that?

Both characters have several methods of winning, including options that allow them to win instantly. However, one character can reliably use/activate their winning move(s) first.

it isn't a stomp because, Contrary to the match against novel kars, here mechi can win even in that condition and cause that black hole to be created, but Lavos is more likely to win with BFR before he does

If you see his victories, it was always "think/point or he gets one shotted", same applies here, if Lavos doesn't use the BFR, he'd lose. It's basically a "one shot 1st, or you'll immediately lose after" match, as Mechi can still win if he doesn't use the Absorption.
