Peter was in midtown until Aunt May dies, but in this universe Stark never came to get Peter to help fight Cap. We know nothing about Oscorp in the MCU. Runaways is not actually confirmed to be cannon to MCU so....

The Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man universe is a bit tricky to figure out, as despite the differences, other things still seemed to have played out largely the same as they did in the MCU. The main events of Civil War seems to have gone pretty much the same without Spider-Man, including the airport battle still occurring and having the same overall outcome, and the events of the first two Avengers movie also seem to have happened, with both the Chitauri invasion and the Battle of Sokovia getting referenced.

We shouldn’t scale them anyway as Hunter X-05 proves they are all just normal humans when he was literally scared of a group of thugs on the street and he didn’t know it was Loki illusions at the time and if he was Loki tier which is strong enough to no sell punches from cap he’d never be scared as a group of humans physically wouldn’t be able to hurt him

1. Norman Osborn existing alone contradicts NWH, as Oscorp, Norman Osborn, and Harry Osborn do not exist in the MCU
2. The way Peter gets his powers is also different. In HC, Peter is referenced as knowing he was bitten by a spider, as well as confirming its dead. YFNSM depicts the spider bite differently, including Peter having no idea what bit him or if its still alive
3. The homemade suits are entirely different
The show isn't all that different from TNAS, which was a show that due to the popularity of Spider-Man (2002), took inspiration for several elements of its world, but is NOT part of the Raimiverse, even having aspects that contradict Spider-Man 1. YFNSM is pretty much the MCU version of this. Yeah, its super MCU gentrified, but to treat it as 100% MCU canon wouldn't be accurate. Its clearly its own continuity

A compilation of statements comparing burnt/treated Jabari wood to vibranium:
- From Black Panther production designer Hannah Beachler: “In M’Baku’s throne room, the wood walls you see as you enter the room are done using the Japanese technique, Shou Sugi Ban. It’s a process that involves charring a wood surface to render it a deep charcoal black, making it weatherproof,” Beachler explains. “In our story, the Jabari tribe do not use the metal resource vibranium. In their region, the earth is saturated with vibranium dust, making the trees as strong and powerful as the metal when the wood is burned. This more organic technology is shown in the burnt wood of this particular set.”
- Also from Beachler: [00:40:17] That’s why we have Jabari Mountain okay. It's treated very differently. When it comes to vibranium, the vibranium dusted over that area, so went into the soil and affected the flora and fauna. So the Jabari, you’ll see, have a lot of wood. [00:40:38] So their wood, as it grew out of the ground that had been saturated with vibranium, when you bring it to a certain burn point, it becomes like steel. So you’ll see notice, you know, they have what looks like burnt wood a lot of the time around in their buildings.
- Yet another statement from Beachler: "We used a Japanese technique, Shou Sugi Ban, to burn the wood in the entrance of the throne room. Once burnt, the wood that grows at the base of the mountain and is used only by the Jabari has the same properties as vibranium. This was a completely different design language from the rest of Wakanda because of the Jabari tradition of woodworking, carpentry and engineering as well as the fact that they were isolated from the rest of the country."
- From Winston Duke: "Yeah, this is something we didn’t get to interrogate deeply in the film, but everything for them is based around this Jabari wood that comes from this sacred tree. Everything in Jabari land is made out of this sacred wood that can essentially go toe-to-toe with a Vibranium sword or a Vibranium weapon because it’s this tempered, strong, treated wood."

What I'm imagining that they're doing with Gwen is that she'll be introduced as just another student at Peter's school that he get along with. But in her free time, inspired by Spider-Man, she goes around fighting crime despite not having any power. This causes her to come into conflict with Spider-Man and she'll later be contacted by Norman so that he can have another hero that'll work directly under him. He'll upgrade her equipment, allowing her to be more efficient but she'll eventually get badly injured, forcing Norman to infuse her with the symbiote so that he doesn't have another failure on his hands. She'll be the Venom of the series, or at least one of them
