you need sufficient resistance to resist even the presence of a shinigami in combat mode , even if he doesn't want to crush you specifically . When the shinigami fight in the real world , the research departement need to erect barriers to not disturb and hurt souls that are close from the RC they emit , souls that have resistance in the first place. And the lieutenant and captains need their power restrained even while not in combat mode .
