Major League of Legends revisions.

@Weekly The lore on his normal skins seems to be this:

"Before Nocturne, people believed that dreams were figments of their imagination, meaningless images that flashed through the mind when one slept. This belief was put to the test when a rash of sleep-related incidents started afflicting summoners of the League. Some would wake up screaming, terrified and beyond consolation. Some could not fall asleep, slowly going mad as the nights ticked by. Some simply never woke up. Physicians were baffled until a Field Architect happened to pass out next to a nexus on Twisted Treeline. Witnesses said he cried out once and then stopped breathing. Immediately after, magical energy arced out from the nexus, and Nocturne appeared.

Nocturne did not take his introduction to this world kindly. He slaughtered everything he could find before summoners were able to magically confine him. After a period of intense study, League experts divined that Nocturne hunted summoners in their sleep, attacking them in a place where their magic was useless. This seemed to be his only purpose. The families of the victims demanded justice, but League officials were concerned that death might only return Nocturne to the place from which he came.
They bound him to a nexus fragment, trapping him in the physical world. As punishment for his crimes, they allowed summoners to call upon Nocturne in the League matches, bending his will to the summoners he hates and creating his own personal nightmare. League scholars don't know whether he truly came from the plane of dreams, or whether there are any more like him. Some theorize that the summoning act affected summoners' subconscious minds, luring Nocturne to them in their sleep. Perhaps the most disturbing theory is that Nocturne is a person's nightmare come to life. If this is true, they wonder, who is the dreamer?

The darkness is closing in...it's pitch black now...but I can still see him...

Yeah he's basically Freddy Krueger, he attacks people in their sleep and has full control over his dream world

Pretty much. The dream part is already on his profile, and Eternum Nocturne would just have durability negation due to his attacks cutting through space-time.

I'm gonna wait for Ant's approval on this but wouldnt transcending time and being beyond space and time qualify for Immeasurable speed?

It also may have durability implications: immunity to time hax, black holes; basically against lot of space-time manipulation capabilities.

If immeasurable speed would severely contradict established speed feats, I think that the quote should be taken with a grain of salt, especially as it may be simple boasting.

I do not understand what you mean.

Oh, I mean that the official splash art for the 'Galactic Renekton' skin pack shows planets being destroyed as Renekton wages war against Nasus.

Riot developers have said that they frequently use the splash art to tell the background lore about characters' different version.

Skin lore

So I was wondering if this could warrant a Likely/Possibly 5-A for Galactic Renekto. We don't know for sure what the intended narrative is, but it is also possible that's what devs wanted to show.

@WB

If you want to use the time thingy for speed somehow, you may attribute lightspeed reactions to Eternum Nocturne, where time is basically stopped in a conventional sense at that speed level, that it does not seem to matter to the observer (against the mundane physical surroundings). Time stops or precog usually result in lightspeed reactions.

Well, I don't notice multiple planets being destroyed in the picture that you posted above.

Well the destructive effect seems to have reached the core on the left most planet, though if it's not at that level perhaps we may attribute other lower tiers.

A few volcanic eruptions of unknown origin are not really conclusive proof of anything. Sorry. We need some sort of specific official descriptions to scale from.

Ah no problem, I didn't know either so I wanted to have it examined here. Thank you.

(By the way, I replaced the previous low-res pic of Galactic Renekton with a hi-res pic, just in case anyone would still be interested in taking another look later)

Hmmm I not so sure on that for the background pictures as well as I prefer using quotes along with background picture that will help with this, @Heinkel.

Yeah unfortunately the skin itself was released Season 2, and the splash art just got updated recently, so we'll have to wait for Galaxy Nasus to be updated as well for more info on the war between the two brothers.

So I just happened to be looking through Dark Star Thresh's quotes and found this:

"I will chain the very heavens and drag them down."

Normally this'd probably be useless, but, if we look at Aurelion Sol's quotes, we see these:

"Only when darkness overwhelms the heavens will Targon realise its folly."

"The heavens diminish without my attention."

Which implies that these "heavens" refer to the entire universe. Since not only is it Aurelion Sol's job to create stars and thus linking to the "diminish" line, but his first quote refers to how the Targonian Aspects destroy a star in the sky when he tries to break his bonds of servitude, and darkness overwhelming them likely refers to the stars eventually vanishing entirely.

Which would thereby give Dark Star Thresh Universal Lifting Strength.

Thoughts?

Eternum Nocturne is an alternate skin who doesn't scale to anyone at all. Besides, certain Champions being nerfed is an in-universe thing (As acknowledged with Jax's lore and incredibly obvious with Aurelion Sol), so contradictions don't really exist.

Besides, not only is "We transcend time" a very direct statement that really doesn't seem like boasting, but the official description says Eternum Nocturne is beyond time and space.

Eternum Nocturne's "The manifestation of all future nightmares" seems to imply that he can at least simultaneously kill every sentient human on Runeterra by entering their dreams, and carving them out of space/time/reality unless they have specific immunity to it.

It's a difficult problem though, since he could kill any man-sized character in LoL with casual ease regardless of their power; even likely the Worldbreakers.

Well, unproven personal boasting should still be taken with a grain of salt, but official descriptions are another matter entirely.

"I will chain the heavens" also sounds too diffuse for my taste to draw any conclusions from.

I think being 'beyond time and space' at least is quite straightforward to describe the physiology of Eternum Nocturne. It's corroborated by his own statements such as 'transcending time' and being able to reach 'the point of origin'. Both the official description in his release announcement, and his VO, are broadly consistent with each other.

Regarding Dark Star Thresh: at this time, this is the cloest we can get to an official description by Riot developer about their concept:

Dark star

They are currently being described as 'gravity gods' the size of galaxies, i.e. somewhat similar to Galactus and Silver Surfer.

This is for Varus' profile:

http://boards.pbe.leagueoflegends.c...OQ2Q-pbe-bugs-feedback-thread-dark-star-varus

Dark Star Varus is a corrupted warrior pulled into Dark Star Thresh's twisted orbit, Dark Star Varus extinguishes worlds in the name of a greater cosmic horror.

During production, we liked to imagine this version of Varus as what he would have turned into when corrupted 'by' Dark Star Thresh!

  • Completely new model! (inorganic space terror!)
  • Completely new VFX! (dark space and cosmos, and a fancy new cape!)
  • Completely new SFX! (sinister space sounds!)
  • New recall! (gravitational fields!)

This is the splash and some additional info for Cosmic Reaver Kassadin:

Cosmic reaver Kassadin

http://boards.pbe.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/general-pbe-feedback/n875hMt2-pbe-bugs-feedback-thread-cosmic-reaver-kassadi
From the infinite void of space, Cosmic Reaver Kassadin calls forth his power from the stars themselves! Your magic is powerless against him!

The new splash by Riot has more stars than the old one to give a sense of scale, so use the new one. : P

That's pretty awesome and useful! That said if there are any contradictions made between lores on the wiki and this, that means this takes priority then? Or is it the other way around? I'm leaning on former.

From what he said Core, Universe is the official source they made for the sole purpose of lore, so I'd think it takes precedence over everything else in that regard.

Yeah, Universe takes precedence over other sources, since it is the official source of all the new, updated lore stories. Over time, older champs like Warwick, Aatrox, Urgot and such will get new short stories like Ezreal, Lee Sin and Jax got just now.
