Mad Dog vs Ip-Man

One more. Come on. We need more tier 9 victories.

What's going on here? Can we please take into consideration that Mad Dog is most definitely a better fighter than Ip-Man.

The guy stomps Rama, someone that should reasonably be around Ip-Man's level (I made the Rama vs Ip-Man thread btw). Both Rama and Ip-Man are able to take down hordes of opponents themselves.

Mad Dog was unfazed from getting his head slammed by Rama against a wall repeatedly. Rama was able to crack a wall by doing the same to someone else with one hit.

The stamina is of course an incredible advantage as well as the ruthlessness.

Btw Rama is capable throwing about 6 punches per second (can be seen towards the end of the last Mad Dog fight).

There's even a part where Rama is able to doge a baseball that was fast enough to get lodged into a wall will and only noticed the baseball coming at him in less than a second.

Rama isn't anywhere near as skilled as Ip-Man. That was one of the primary reasons he lost the match to Ip-Man in the first place.

Rama had trouble dealing with two relatively low-end characters wielding a common hammer and baseball bat. Jin Shanzhao took on Ip-Man with a sword, and the latter low-diff'd him with a featherduster.

Ip-Man has effortlessly blocked kicks that were performed in midair. Hell, he blocked two consecutive midair kicks from one of the martial arts masters near the beginning of Ip-Man 2, while balancing on a rickety table.

In that same scene (against another one of the masters), the table split in half and by kicking it in midair, he was able to maneuver his side so that it fell into the perfect position for him to land on it with both feet.

Strength/durability-wise? Cracking a wall is roughly comparable to denting metal, and Ip-Man fairly easily blocked strikes from a fodder character who could do the latter with a single kick.

Also, even if Rama were as skilled as Ip-Man, Dog doesn't beat Rama with skill alone. As we see numerous times in the final fight, Dog's fighting strategy leaves many, many openings for him to get hit. He takes an absolutely absurd number of punches when he fights, and while that's a great way to showcase his stamina and endurance, it also shows that he's not as good at dodging as he should be. That, or he just doesn't bother to dodge as much as he should. Whichever.

Mad Dog was fighting two experts at the same time of course he was gonna get hit a few times, still he managed land a bunch too. It's not that he doesn't bother, especially when his fight with Jaka shows that he doesn't just tank hits repeatedly.

Ok maybe I should've clarified Rama and Ip-Man being around the same level, not necessarily skill but everything combined all together.

Not really, though. Even in the fight with the S.W.A.T. member, he took a number of blows he shouldn't have, and even got thrown into walls and the floor a good few times. The way he fights leaves him open for counterattacks, which are part of Ip-Man's bread and butter.

Rama is as strong as Ip-Man, maybe, and he has endurance on his side. But he's weaker in almost every other area, and Dog is in the same general boat. Moreover, advantages in stamina and endurance are almost never enough to win against Ip-Man. Twister and Frank (read: Mike Tyson) can tell you that much.

Mad Dog's stamina I MUCH higher that Twister or Frank, so is his pain tolerance. The fact that Rama is someone that could make a match against Ip-Man yet gets cut stomped by Mad Dog means that Mad Dog would win.

Anyway that's my vote
