ALTERNATE TITLE: SUPERVILLAIN SHOWDOWN
So, I'm a little disappointed in Longlegs. It's a great movie admittedly and the performance of the actors were really amazing! Plus the suspense and buildup left me theorizing and wondering what's gonna happen. And while like many others, I am disappointed at how they decided to do the final twist, I'm also really disappointed at the ending.
Some spoilers. Essentially, the protagonist of the story is set up to have some minor clairvoyance. Cool, and then Longlegs murders people through impossible means. It's eventually set up that he's been doing this via mind control which was when my theory begun. I legitimately thought this was going to be like Unbreakable where people with superpowers were around and I was genuinely excited for it to be a superhero horror as I like that genre a lot and I was seeing parallels between this and Unbreakable. But as it turns out, it was just demons, like always...
Now out of disappointment, I shall make a crossover with the media that gave me that theory so that I can indulge in the universe where Longlegs is a superhero horror movie.

"And why are you doing this?" Lee asked, placing down the casefile she had been reading.
"Simple really, my higher ups agreed to it. With how prolific this case has become, the FBI has agreed to some extra help. Raven Hill has been nothing but helpful in assisting cases like this. All I'm doing now is relaying the information to you," Wayne explained as he took the casefile from them.
"Thanks for that, detective. I suppose we'll go to that interview you scheduled. Gotta start from somewhere," William replied, his co-worker giving a nod before his visitors left his office. Once they did, Wayne breathed a sigh of relief before looking to his side, hearing a familiar voice speaking to him.
"And there you have it. More subjects to play around with," Wayne said.
"To be fair, that serial killer is already in my grasp. I probably shouldn't have appeared to him in his basement, the man downstairs is such a mouthful to say. But still, the faster he dies, the faster he gets to the mansion," Malak explained through a distance, keeping his form away from this particular universe.
"Y'know, I was expecting the devil to be a bit more... extra. I mean, have you seen your worshipers? And I thought horror movies were corny."
"The vulnerable are easier to manipulate. But, everyone does have their own vulnerabilities..."
"Keep up the good work and you'll be able to stay for longer. And stay safe, your actions will not continue to go unnoticed~" Malak finished before leaving Wayne alone with his thoughts.
Back in the hallway, the two agents continued their walk through the station to reach the designated interrogation room. As they continued their walk, the officers they passed by became fewer while armed and well-armored guards became all the more plentiful. A few rooms and routes were also boarded up with a couple cameras being placed in new areas.
"Are you sure about this?" Lee asked, occasionally glancing around the hallway they're in.
"Well, Detective Bailey has been one of our best investigators in serial killer cases. Even survived one himself a few weeks back. If there's someone I trust for advice in a case like this, it'd be him," William replied before eventually reaching the room.
The interrogation room had been highly modified both inside and out with armed guards being stationed outside what is now a metal door, a wheelchair being placed just beside on of the guards. The inside was similarly altered with emergency lights, cameras, and alarms being plentiful in some corners of the room. And sitting in the middle of it was an old man trapped in a straightjacket which was secured to the chair he was sitting on.
"He's been very eager for this meeting. Even stopped a lot of his activities just to get the props he wants. Just, don't take everything he says seriously," the assisting researcher in the room advised before allowing the two agents to begin their interview.
"So, Mr. Glass is it? Heard of some of your escapades but-" William begun before being cut off.
"What is my card?" Mr. Glass asked.
"Seriously? Of course he would. Go ahead, Harker," the supervisor suggested, snapping Lee out of her thoughts.
"Oh! Ace of spades," she answered, earning a nod from the supervillain.
Satisfied with his answer, Mr. Glass begun to subtly move his body within his restraints. As the people in his room got ready for an escape attempt, he instead begun to gag several times before successfully spitting out a folded playing card. "Whew, when someone running into you too hard breaks a dozen of your bones, you gotta learn how to do certain things yourself," he commented while Lee went to unfold the card.
"Ace of spades," she stated.
"Now, that may be luck, but I don't have the time to prepare another test. So I'm gonna trust a 51/52 odds that the FBI wasn't lying about your clairvoyance," Mr. Glass explained.
"Get ready, this is where the bullshit happens," the assisting researcher commented.
"Everything extraordinary can be explained a way, and yet it is true. I think deep down you know this. Everything we will see and do will have a basis in science. But, it will have limits; this is the real world, not a cartoon. And yet some of us don't die from bullets. Some of us can still bend steel. Some of us can see the future," as the supervillain continued his explanation, the two agents mostly listened with skepticism, mostly based on what they've heard.
"And some of us can control minds." That last moment intrigued Lee, who begun to connect the dots from the suggestion. While absurd, it would certainly explain the remote killings caused by seemingly out of character actions.
"So here's my first suggestion, completely free. In a comic, you know how you can tell who the arch-villain's going to be? He's the exact opposite of the hero, and most times they're friends, or maybe... acquaintances. I believe that the key to discovering this lies in you, Agent Harker. You're already digging into it, aren't you?" Mr. Glass continued as Lee begun to back up. Unspecific flashes of images were beginning to come back to her, depicting nothing specific. All it showed was her birthday, the speech her mother gave to her that night, and... wasn't there supposed to be something else? That couldn't have been it, right?
"I, I think you may be on to something," Lee said, Mr. Glass returning a smile in response.
"I believe I can be of service if you allow me. Just one more thing, agents. To begin our co-operation," he added as the agent begun to recover.
"What is it?" William asked.
"I believe you're not dealing with the occult. They may think so, but as it is in the comics: Magic is usually just another aspect of their universe. What we're dealing with now... is a supervillain," Mr. Glass explained.
As the two agents left while considering the possibilities, a subtle chuckle could be heard through the halls of the station. Only Lee reacted to it, turning around to see nothing out of the ordinary. As more flashes resurfaced, she held her head in pain before moving on, passing by a brief vision of a well-dressed humanoid with a red head and black horns.
"You do not know what you're dealing with, Mr. Glass. But rest assured, I can't wait to have you in my mansion~"
