Little idea I thought of.

I'm not sure what would be considered the first, so I'm just gonna list my best guess for the tier for what could be considered the first.

Super Mario Bros: 9-B with Supersonic speed via being able to outrun the Bullet Bills and overpower their KE with his jumps.

Mario Bros (the one that came with the GBA Mario remakes and got a stage based on it in Brawl): 9-B with normal human speed. No speed feats, and he can hit metal hard enough that it bends upwards with enough force to flip over human sized turtles and crabs and such.

Donkey Kong: 9-B with normal human speed. He can pulverize giant barrels with a hammer.

Oh okay! I knew Mario was powerful but i never expected him to be 4-A when playing a few of his games. And with Paper Mario at his peak being 2-B i was even MORE shocked. I guess i wasn't paying attention enough to Super Paper Mario.

Moral of the story is, if you wanna make a character OP, put them in space ovo

(for reference, Mario's tier 4 and MFTL+ stats come from the Galaxy games)

Welp if little nine year old me knew that mario in the future would be this strong when playing the first mario game i played (Super Mario World) I would have probably thought "Holy bajeezus he's awesome!!"

What's funny is that SMW is the first Mario game with a blatant feat showing Mario to be stupidly above superhuman.

I first played that game when I was like, 5 or 6. I didn't beat that game until I was 16. And if you were anything like me, I know exactly what place you were talking about, and it was the third boss, which was the one before the Forest of Illusion.

Uh huh. I feel your pain. You have to take one of the secret exits in specific levels or you'll continually loop. Yep...
