Kingdom Hearts General Discussion Thread

AAA games taking around 5 years of development isn't unheard of in the industry at this point, there's a wide variety of reasons, but the main one are the visual demands, for example, a fancy cutscene in a SNES game can be done within a week by 5 people at most, while in current AAA expectations it'd take more people and time out of demanding a ton of preplanning and graphic design; games nowadays are designed more like movies over just treating the visuals in a more simplistic manner like a visual novel, for contrast remember that Dark Road took a year for its final update that added a ton of cutscenes and it was all made by 2 people.

Also, as a fellow Yu-Gi-Oh! fan, I love the pfp. Been rewatching the animes recently (Duel Monsters is my favorite) and I'm up to 5Ds right now. Much better than what I expected
thanks, and nice i have been rewatching the original sub's lately and have been having a great time with that

Idk if you guys have discussed this already but I might have an argument for layered light and darkness stuff

Essentially you know the keyblade armor is supposed to protect you from Darkness and its effects in lanes between? Well I was watching some dark Road cutscenes and I found one scene in particular on how the classmates keyblade armor eroded in the corridors/realm of darkness despite in Lore the armor is supposed to resist the effects in the lanes between and also young xehanort and xemmas putting Sora to sleep with Darkness despite the fact he should resist both of those with sleep block and having a strong heart

I think we could easily argue stuff like darkness and its effects < light and its resistances < more potent Darkness and so on and so forth

If we want to elaborate on the point of protective clothing being bypassed, I have a spreadsheet that contains information regarding the in game resistances of many bosses, and in KH2, Sora deals Dark Based damage in Antiform, and using said form, can damage Organization Members (Minus Zexion, who has a Darkness Immunity), Armored Xemnas, and Lingering Will, the Org Members wearing the cloak's that protect you from Darkness, and Armored Xemnas and Lingering Will using Keyblade Armor's. Likewise, in BBS, character's like Terranort and Vanitas also bypass the Keyblade Armor's the main trio with Dark Based attacks iirc.

Personally I'm a bit iffy on it since the 0 cards and Jafar card kind of throws a wrench into that system

Also speaking of com do you think we could argue law manipulation for keyblade Master tiers via aqua turning the land of departure into Castle Oblivion and how the world works with the card system shit?

The 0 card can just pass as having 27 layers of Power Null but without including a layered resistance (it'd still have a baseline one as it can force a card break against other 0 cards) to them. I'm unsure how the Jafar card places it into question when it'd just make every card used by the user be treated as having 28 layers of Power Null + a resistance as layered (given it also blocks 0 cards).

It's specifically a secret technique that's passed down, so excluding card stuff only Aqua and Eraqus would have it, unless there's a way to argue for cross-scaling for every Keyblade wielder or something like that.

Eraqus pretty much say the keyblade armor will protect aqua and terra from darkness in the lines between here. while in dark road young xehanort and his friends got sent to the realm of darkness and the darkness is still clearly affecting them their despite having their keyblade armor on here

Eraqus says in that scene "now that you are a master there is one secret in particular you must know". i think you could interpret as a secret technique only Masters are allowed to know potentially. granted nether sora or terra would get it since nether officially became masters despite being on that level of power

also, I almost forgot you could tie this into the fact stronger Hearts have better resistance to Darkness via aqua and old man xehanort resisting the realm of darkness effects far better even without protective clothing

Does Jack Sparrow scale to 6-D btw?
By KH3 he should, more specifically The Caribbean is an end-game world and we already accept KH3 Sora as being on that level by then (which matters as relevant foes aren't portrayed as one-sided fights). The profile is just outdated and someone could update it if they wanted to.

KHII Sora scales to him, so should KHII Sora be upgraded to 6D as well?

Also I another scene that could potentially support futher layers is being ansem able to corrupt aqua with his dark ball attack despite her resisting the realm of darkness effects

The fact kh 3 jack sparrow can potentially solo canon dragon ball is funny to me

btw is there a place where i can read the kh novels both in English and Japanese? i wanna do a deep dive later down the line to see if theres any bullshit hax in them
