Sora vs Kratos (0-1-0)

Sora (Kingdom Hearts III) vs Kratos (Ragnarok)
1000

Assumptions

Victory Condition: Death, or incapacitating the opponent by putting them in a state in which they can not harm the other fighter(s) for at least 1 minute.
Location and Starting Distance: Parthenon, both are standing in the middle of the temple in Athens, 3 metres apart from each other
Verse Equalization: Souls and Hearts will not be equalized for this fight. Sora's soul will not work the same way souls do in GoW, and Kratos will not have a Heart. This part of verse equalisation under the SBA page doesn't apply here: "It is also important to note that characters won't lose or gain any abilities or resistances which they do or do not inherently possess."
Speed is equalized
Everything Else:
Same as Standard Battle Assumptions

Sora:
Kratos: 1 (Planck, )

Incon:

Before anyone says anything about the verse equalization change, the SBA page states that you're allowed to freely change the assumptions and the match can still be added to the profile

Sora can't do anything to Kratos' Heart because he doesn't have one, and whatever soul manipulation Kratos has will not affect Sora because souls work differently in his verse. Additionally, incapacitation for 1 minute is enough for a win, so Sora can't come back after he's killed unless he can do it in under 60 seconds

Kratos still has all those metaphysical aspects with his magic in general so how does this change much of anything? Likewise I presume Sora can still do other things with light/darkness to begin with than direct targeting.

Anyways the above aside, I'm not familiar with KH so does Sora have anything Kratos doesn't resist?

pretty sure thats not how it works

like, if x verse has concept manip and y verse lacks it, that doesn't mean X ability would be useless its the contrary

So Kratos not having a Heart or Sora's soul being different won't stop the effects from taking place (whatever stuff Kratos hits with)

It is also important to note that characters won't lose or gain any abilities or resistances which they do or do not inherently possess.

All this aside, Sora's a kid so that takes away most of Kratos's lethal options. He has abysmal lifting strength compared to the latter though, and any physical hold would leave Sora completely immobilized, so he would need some thought based abilities if he gets grabbed, otherwise it's over. Kratos also has Social Influencing, but this is Kingdom Hearts and from what I know, Sora probably has an advantage there.

Ragnarok Kratos has all of his layered resistances, but his offensive magic is mostly baseline. He does have Reactive Evolution that's defensive and offensive though, so this won't stay that way for long, but again, Kratos isn't gonna try to kill or even harm Sora which limits most of his options. Defensively, he's largely fine, being able to absorb all blows via Valor to heal himself.

If there aren't any thought-based ways to escape a hold from Kratos, then he likely immobilizes him for more than 1 minute (honestly far longer too).

Oh yeah I forgot about those. I edited the OP to account for that, I hope it makes the matchup more fair

If Kratos hits a soulless being in God of War like this guy, what happens? Would Garm's luck and memory be affected? With the rules I set in the OP, I think Kratos' magic would interact with Sora the same way it would interact with Garm

Wait, it does?

Why wasn't this brought up during Rimuru vs Kratos

Would be funny to discuss
Pretty sure Rimuru isn't an actual child. And Kratos has the senses to tell.

Garm doesn't have those. And SBA doesn't just let you ignore entire rules to get a match added, it only goes so far.

Not that it matters much, Sora's a kid so Kratos isn't gonna try to kill him anyways. And Ragnarok Kratos lacks the instant incap methods he had as an Olympian, so the rule for this match is superfluous.

Actually, wait. I just remembered Pandora. Yeah, a close enough facsimile would be an issue.

Rimuru would be annoyed if you considered him a child. His own series doesn't consider him as such iirc, at least after he gets a human form again.
He doesn't consider himself to be such, but those around him often do

His first human form was literally called a child

With each evolution he gets taller, and even in his last key on the wiki he's 1.5m

I'm not following everything in SBA in this matchup though. The SBA page says you're allowed to do that and the matchup can still be added

Sora is unlikely to kill Kratos either, so I hope that makes the matchup fair. He doesn't seem to have abilities Kratos doesn't resist, so its a pretty simple fight

So, Kratos is a far more experienced warrior and fighter, and also has the reach advantage on Sora, which matters given how close they are.

He likely just tries to talk down Sora, and if that fails, closes in and puts him in a hold for a minute until he calms down.

Voting for Kratos.

I don't see anything in either video that'd give Kratos any issues. He's fought teleporters, precogs, fliers and time warpers that moved faster than him because of that (some being two, three, or all of the above) and gotten his hands on them all the same. Sora isn't giving him any trouble there.

Only this time, he can just walk through all of the latter's attacks, absorb them to heal if need be and is starting from a significantly closer distance than any of his other fights. And Sora can't win via any speed amplification cause he's inherently slower.

My vote remains the same.

The real question is how Kratos is going to restrain him, as Sora already has experience on constantly avoiding forms of restrainment.
The issue is grabbing to begin with.
Are you saying that he can use wind and water spells to avoid being grabbed? Kratos could probably just attempt to grab him again- its not like Sora would repeatedly spam those moves every second. If he gets grappled, are there any magic spells he can use to push Kratos away?

Ok, well whatever, if the OP says Ragnarok, I am going with that.

So, what stops Kratos from calling him "BOY" and teaching him archery?
Or spank him like a dad/guardian?

Ignoring Kratos doesn't like to hurt kids for a second. Isn't some of kratos hax layered at the moment while sora's aren't currently aisde form lethal frame being layered time manipulation

This is Ragnarok Kratos so most of his offensive abilities are baseline while his resistances are layered nine times. Only exception is Realm Shift, which is 1 layer of time manipulation. He does have Reactive Evolution that lets him develop new powers or grow old ones though so that isn't set.

does Kratos resist law manipulation? because that is something sora can do with the X-blade potentially
Hm, that might be an issue since he doesn't currently. That said, Law Manipulation does exist in God of War so adaptation isn't impossible, though depends on how it works and if it does him in before he can.

How does it work? Is it thought-based? On hit?

The true kingdom hearts created all the worlds which all run on different laws and rules and pretty much governs over all of them and the X-Blade can use the power of the true kingdom hearts.

I can't say for sure if it's on hit like concept type and info type 2 stuff tho I might have to look into that more

When Sora notices he doesn't want to kill him he's very likely to fight differently too

On Hit 100% according to the profile
higher with Kingdom Hearts (Whoever wields the χ-Blade is able to summon and control the true Kingdom Hearts)
Also, is Sora IC summoning KH in the middle of a fight?

the abilities on the X-blade's page probably needs an update since it listed on xehanort's page under with the X-blade

ngl a good amount of kh ability pages could use an update/clean up

Sora is not going to do that in character. That's not even an ability used in combat anyways

Its his Ragnarok key yes
