Jungle Battle: Jaguar vs Gorilla

Most people agree that a Gorilla can defeat a Leopard. Can the Primate do so to a larger, more powerful but similar cousin?

Standard battle assumptions apart from that the battle takes place close to the trees

Gorilla's already have a hard time against leopards. The jaguar has the size and strength to be able to overpower the gorilla.

As for me I think inconclusive or Gorilla. Having a good strength and intelligence advantage is neat but the Jaguar's bite and speed is very dangerous, and isn't much weaker.

Young and female gorillas would struggle with leopards, male silverbacks on the other hand most likely regularly chase them off as part of their job of protecting the troop. Not only that, but gorillas are far superior in weight and power, being more comparable to adult lions than other big cats.

Not only that, bu gorilla bite force is only slightly lower than a jaguars, at 1300 psi in comparison to jag's 1350. Not only that, but gorillas also possess large club-ike arms that can easily swing with the power to break bone, which they can easily use to crush the jag's skull, which is incredibly structurally weak.

Bottom line, in every category except for speed, gorillas easily trump.
