Jujutsu Kaisen Discussion Page #1

Also I thought of using some of these but the ones I saw either had some weird angles or right after it cuts to another angle of the same shot where the characters have different heights cause of said aforementioned angles. Used the Jogo one just cause it was the easiest and the one with the least angle fuckery I could find
Once you fix the calc lmk because I can tag a few mfs to take a look

I knew it looool
Eh tbf it's not inaccurate cause it's a massive pixel scaling chain (even though it is a massive as **** pixel scaling chain) It's inaccurate cause I didn't realize I'd have to use minimum distance traveled and used a distance like 55x farther

Welp time to wait for next chapter to see if we can feed any more feats into the massive speed debate bonfire

So is the gang who pushed BF cap gonna make a thread removing that or do I need to? Let me know.
If no one has removed that headcanon discussion rule, I will remove it sometime in the future.

Feel like I've said this already, but the crt was about the fact these characters need extreme concentration to hit a bf, that still is the case. The chapter hasn't been translated yet either so maybe let's wait for that to see what's actually said before asking to get it removed.

No it’s not. Gojo literally rips that argument in half and once again, we have people like Nobara entering the zone and achirving it. The OP’s argument is explicitly proven wrong.

TCB is already out. He clearly says if it's just milliseconds he could do it at will. Gojo never talks about concentration so please drop that line of argument of yours.

I'm not saying remove it right away. I'm just saying I will do it if no one has created a CRT when official translation gets out (Though we would be using TCB translation either way knowing John werry is not a trustworthy guy)

I've always maintained that BF was a skill issue, not a speed issue, and it's constantly implied as such in the series. Characters in the zone where cursed energy manipulation becomes subconscious (they're more skilled) are more conducive to landing black flashes despite not being faster than inverse high tiers who aren't, Nanami states black flash is about skill and luck (not speed), the narration says those who use black flash are blessed (not necessarily 'faster'), using black flash grants immeasurable knowledge of cursed energy, etc. So happy we finally get explicit confirmation from a six eyes user who's used black flash at least 9 times (historical record inverse) so we can stop with these headcanon 'anti-feats', in addition to extra information on the technique also depending on environmental factors to further emphasise that the speed isn't an issue (at least not for characters like Goatjo).

Hmmm.. Looks pretty subsonic ngl

Yep. I have as well.

That BF cap was the most stupid thing that was passed in that CRT to cap speed in JJK, because the series has literally implied it to us that it's a skill issue. Like we shouldn't have needed to have been spoonfed this info for us to make sense out of it. It's always been there.

No it’s not
The crt goes over concentration, please read the comments in it, not just the OP. I went over concentration several times in it.

We should wait for official trans before jumping at anything. And the entire scene is about Gojo's personal belief, let's not go and use it as fact.

I don't have much say on the speed debacle now but I feel like just saying it's Gojo's personal belief is just downplaying it. Gojo would be one of the more reliable sources you can get in the series regarding this stuff.
The most reliable on a phenomenon nobody has been able to understand? That still doesn't mean we run with it, especially when he himself says it's from his personal belief.

While you do mention concentration as an argument, that was not the reason it got accepted because there was no mention of it in the original OP you made, and most of the people accepting the thread did so before you brought that up. And I explicitly remember saying that the reason why the black flash wasn't possible at being done at will wasn't understood by anyone and that the assertion that it was a timing issue was never made out in the series. And to have Gojo in this latest chapter apparently pretty much say the same thing is nice to hear. I can't wait to check it out sunday.

Gojo is one of the best authorities on CE we have in the series, and if he's saying the timing isn't a problem, I don't know why we wouldn't believe him on that.

I know you are a perpetual downplayer but put the mouse down my boi, you're making a fool of yourself.
I don't downplay. I even included this in my OP for the crt in case new info came out later on.
As many have brought up, the story can change and allow for characters to reach higher levels of speed, I completely agree and even think an argument can be made for Kashimo's statement about surpassing the human realm and the fact his brain functions at a faster rate, though how consistent this may be and how valid it is, is something to take into account when determining a jump in speed.

people riding on official translations when they tend to be worse than a good fan translation group
Werry has been adding stuff that isn't even in the raws and is known for his poor translations. NGL, I was once a fan of the official translations, but now that I've started reading TCB, I can see how much of a mess John Werry's translations can be.

Me personally, the Six Eyes-bearing, most unreasonably Black Flash trigger happy person in the series has the most reliable say on the phenomena

Seriously, this guy just wanted to get random crits in for fun

I've read the pre-John Werry translations and they're fine

I don't understand how he's so bad at translation
Pre-John Werry it was fine, the translator had a youtube channel and broke down the translations, like the Todo "we are the exception" he broke it down and its origins, he understood the text and its relation to irl, just wish he wasn't into real kids

Werrry took 3 years of Japanese and thought he could translate for Viz. Not only does any English speaker know he's trash, but he's been called out by a slew of native speakers. Stop coping.

Edit: Not talking to you saka <3

But if Gojo had said it was due to pure speed and that’s why he couldn’t do it willingly, you’d use it without a second thought and push it as fact because it confirms your biases.

The double standards is crazy.

In fact, quite honestly, the people who are so obsessed with “objective” JJK ratings may be several times worse than the people who they swear want endless upgrades.

Their worldview on the scaling suddenly gets shattered by a single statement and now Gojo ******* Satoru is now questioned on the credibility of a technique he’s already used, multiple times at that. It’s actually truly hilarious looking back, this is cope personified. Once again, I’ve already thought someone would try an argument like that, I’m just waiting on Sunday to post the thread.
